SF’s Nob Hill Theatre closing after 50 years

I never went to this club - only been in SF once - but it sounds like it would have been a very fun gay sex club / strip club.

Imagine a club like that lasting 50 years!

Another piece of gay history...

Wow! This was the place I made my very first visit to video booths -- in 2002 when I was in my 30s. I was terrified and thrilled at the same time.

After watching the hot strippers upstairs I made my way to the booths. (OK, some older guy told me about them and directed me there.) I found a booth and started the videos, not sure what to do. After finding myself turned on I got the nerve to strip down to nothing and start enjoying myself. I was in mid-stroke when, to my shock, the door opened and an older gentleman smiled and started fondling my nipples! I had not realized that the door did not lock automatically!

I was flabbergasted and embarrassed and immediately shut and locked the door. Of course, I continued my session but could not stop thinking about that man who had been watching me. So several minutes later, as surreptitiously as possible, I unlocked the door and continued stroking. Lo and behold, a few minutes later the door swung open and the same man was there, watching me and fondling my chest and talking dirty to me. When I saw a small crowd of men behind him watching me play with myself stark naked, I exploded all over the place.

That was when I discovered the joy of exhibitionism.

RIP, Nob Hill Theatre! Thanks for the great memories.

I remember my first time going into the booths - each booth had a choice of 2 movies to watch and I would always make sure when I left to make sure the switch was in the position of the straight movie so no one would think I was queer!
