Adopt A Sex Pig?

Does anybody know if people still use 'Adopt A Sex Pig'? I joined because I thought I could meet a like-minded top that wasn't nervous about showing his kinky tastes, but overall that section of the site seems really slow.

Just wondering if anybody that recently joined has had any success with it.

It's true, there is not much activity on the Sex Pig site in the last few years. My late predecessor Keith had me create the site in the mid-2000s based on programming used for other CFS sites. He then went to IML in Chicago to debut the Sex Pig site. At the time, it did get quite a few members.

However, I'm not sure if Keith truly had a good understanding of the leather, fetish, BDSM, etc. space and the people who inhabit it or test the waters. For example, there's just something about the word "adopt" that seems a little off. I have no club affiliations and my work and personal commitments keep me from socializing much (if at all) these days, but I've been to friends' daddy/son (sometimes poly) family "pledging" ceremonies, some with master/slave or BDSM aspects, and I've been more active in the fetish scene years ago. The word "adopt" and the site don't seem to encompass the life.

Anyhow, in the following years as Keith's health declined the site received less attention and usage fell off. Since his passing in 2012 I've been the only person working with all of the web sites Kieth used to own.

I have, quite honestly, put Adopt A Sex Pig very far down on my priority list, behind stabilizing our servers in the first year-plus as well as staying on top of daily content updates for the most active parts of the sites, the Sex Listings and the Escort Reviews.

All that only indirectly answers your question, but I think you get the idea. The Sex Pig has been neglected and is the least active of the ones I operate.

I am undecided what to do with the site. I might close it and sell the domain name.

Or, I might keep it active but only as a linking site to more active fetish-related sites. My own personal favorite is FetLife, a social network and not just a hookup site, of well over 3 million members that is open and welcoming to all genders and orientations (which can be pretty fluid these days anyhow). They rely on donations, which allows them to show less advertising than CFS does.

FWIW, I like the "donation" model and I hope eventually to adapt it for CFS once the much-needed software upgrades are complete. The sites have run at a loss for over a year. Pushing the "reset button" is very long overdue.

Adopt A Sex Pig looked promising! Exactly the NSA format I liked! I think that should be your hookup site. I mean its directly related to this site, so why not boost that one up? I like the cruising spot reviews on this site too. There's so many gems on this website.

There's enough social networking sites for M2M. Hookup/Sex forums and sites needs to make a comeback. After dick.net finally came down, and fewer people on CruisingForSex its been really depressing.

Thanks! That's a really interesting idea!

I hope this isn't too wordy or repetitive. Keep reading and you'll see something new, promise.

When I've made plans for the future of CFS I honestly couldn't figure out what to do with Adopt A Sex Pig. Keith had originally asked me to create it very quickly based on older software I'd written for him. He was very upset with the anti-sex/anti-porn/anti-gay attitudes that were rising in the second Bush administration, especially the "Section 2257" regulations on porn sites.

We rushed to get the Pig site operating so he could take it to IML. I think that was 2005, but I could be wrong. Keith originally had a "bare bones" look to it on a plain white page with a pig logo, trying to make it look simple like Craigslist.

As I said, since I actually had been attached to (if not totally in) the leather/kink scene earlier (and I'd like to get more active in it again when possible) I thought the site name was a little silly. It wasn't a recon.com or anything like that.

It also had much fewer ads but no paid membership. So, it wasn't set up to make money, more to make a point.

Later Keith decided to give Adopt A Sex Pig the same page template (with oodles of ads) as CFS.

Right now, there's probably lot's of inactive Pig site members. I've been surprised that I get several new Pig memberships for approval every week. That site's usage stats are low.

To bring it back would require totally new software. It would have to have a mobile-friendly design. It would be easier to maintain a single "responsive" design (good for mobile and computer both) instead of having two designs or a website + App.

And of course, that take time, work, money... You see where this is going. Straight to the page I just published about setting up paid "Donating" or "Supporting" Members who would receive an "ad-minimized" version of CFS plus some new features.

And yes, I am basing this partly on the model of fetlife.com: You don't have to pay and I won't take anything away from you if you don't, but you'll get a better experience if you do.

How to fit Adopt A Sex Pig into that? I don't know.

It would help to unify the "branding" so that it would be part of the cruisingforsex.com domain instead of being separate. Maybe sexpigs.cruisingforsex.com or hookups.cruisingforsex.com or something else. The existing adoptasexpig.com address could redirect to whatever new address we use.

Likewise, since the free ad-based model doesn't really work well these days, it would have to be determined what parts of the Pig/Hookup site would be totally free and what aspects would be for "Donors/Supporters."

Please feel totally free to make suggestions, react, give feedback, whatever. Ultimately, I want these sites to evolve into what you want to use -- but also something that will be financially sustainable.

I love the idea of adding on a kinky/fetish section to this site. It fits the overall theme of this site perfectly. The thing I liked about Adopt-A-Sex-Pig is that it seemed like a classified ad for real sex fiends.

Other M4M sites are mostly dating sites aimed at relationships. While those have their place, my main love is NSA. I just wanna get fucked without being in a relationship lol. Although, Adopt-A-Sex-Pig seemed like it was kinda like a dating thing, but it had a very NSA and 'open' feel to it, and it also has a place for the kinky/fetish type stuff.

Its sad how other m4m NSA forums and sites are closing down. Luckily this one is still up, and I love reading the new reviews for cruise spots. I also like writing about my experiences if I have a good time. But yeah, there needs to be more activity on here lol.
