Hate to rain on your parade guys but it's not just HIV we have to be concerned about.

We are all concerned about HIV transmission -- but it's not just HIV that concerns me when getting or giving an unprotected blow job. Syphilis in gay men is on the increase in S California -- if you suck a guy with a chancre(syphilis lesion) on his dick you might get your lesion in your mouth, lips or tongue -- then pass it on to another guy you suck after some time passes. I think from 3 weeks to a month or more -- not sure about that.

Herpes can also be transmitted via blowjobs --
Ever had a case of throat gonorrhea -- that can come from blowing a guy, carrying the organism in his urethral tract, which is then carried into your throat when you swallow cum.

Check with your local health department for details -- denial does not do it for me.

What a great thread!!! These discussions really get me hot and hard. I'm 56yo and have been sucking cock since I was 15. I swallowed that first load then and don't think I've spit more than 5-10 loads out since then. I've had a few cum so hard in in such great quantity that with their cocks in my mouth I cant swallow fast enough and it just leaked out. Most of the time tho I've always rinsed and gargled soon afterwards with listerine or peroxide/water solution. I really must have a guardian angel since I've never contracted any disease. (yet)(knock on wood, etc.)

:) The info your doctor gave you was as correct as we currently understand it.

Yes, there is SOME HIV in saliva, but probably not enough to infect the skin cells of the penis. There is a hell of a lot more HIV concentrated in 1 squirt of semen than there is in say tears or saliva.

There seem to be inhibitory proteins in the saliva which further impead the spread. The virus is pretty delicate, and after you have blown your wad, you usually pull out and either clean up or dry up. No conducive to HIV survival.

With receptive anal intercourse, i.e. almost the same thing as oral, just that the geography is a little different, you don't have the inhibitory proteins, the rectal mucosa is always going to get abraided, exposing more HIV to your penis, and more penile skin is rubbed against the gut wall than is going to happen when you are getting blown. (Teeth as protection from transmission??)

Obviously, it isn't fool proof, there are a few cases of oral transmission of HIV reported, but usually to the guy who is doing the sucking.

This at the moment is the best info I can offer. Dr. Danny
