Nature Boy Mamasan Arrested

Guess this confirms what I always expected might be going on down there.

Police arrested a transvestite at a hotel in the Silom area Tuesday night allegedly for procuring Thai boys for sodomy.

Thanom Yaidee, a 34-year-old worker at the Nature Boy bar on Silom Road, was arrested in his room at the Tower Inn on the same road at 8pm on Tuesday as plainclothes police from the Crimes Against Children, Juveniles, and Women Suppression Division (CCSD) contacted him to arrange a procurement. The suspect brought along four youths aged 14-17.

Mr. Thanom, alias Jedam Silom, demanded 5,000 baht for each boy and 5,000 baht more for his procuring services. The police arrested him immediately after handing over the money.

Mr. Thanom was quoted as confessing to procuring Thai boys and men for foreigners and male and female Thai clients.

I've been in that bar many, many times---although it's been almost a year, or so now (I once lived just around the corner) and I never saw anything that would have led me to believe that such things were going on. So, Icon, what made you think this was going on? Approached by mamasan?

Offers overheard. "If you don't like these boys we have some very special boys outside", things like that.

I popped into Alek Bar, kinda near Tawan Club last week. No customers on Wednesday night at 10pm. Several of the boys rushed to the door, then the Masaman came and saw me, called over something to the effect of, "Hey, Farang is here"--and over comes a boy of not more than 15 (unless he's got some growth or hormone problem)... and the Masaman says, "Very young, u like"?
Hmm...no thanks, and we walked out.
The story about Nature Boy reminds me of my experience last week.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I've just never paid a lot of attention to what has been said around me. I wonder why they've never offered me any 'special boys?' I wonder this because I've only once actually taken a boy from there and that was probably 2 years ago. I just used to like going in there to relax, drink a couple of beers and play around with the guys (if any suited me). This, more back in the loin cloth days than now... don't know why, but I always fancied the loin cloths.

Anyway... thanks for the info.

Absolutely agreed, the loin cloths times were great!

I keep hoping that they will be back.
When it comes to the selection of guys there, I think it differs a lot. Sometimes none of them appeals me, sometimes I fancy two or three of them. When the latter is the case, I like playing with them right there in the bar. Fortunately, most of the guys are not shy at all and let you have a feel of what they have in their briefs.

Johan, 'feel what they have in their briefs'? Usually, when I go in, they're no longer wearing briefs by the time they get to my table - about 3 seconds it takes!

That mamasan was a poisonous character. Provided no service at all, but always wheedled for tips. On one occasion she barred my way as I left and demanded 300 baht on the grounds that she had offered to be f****d when I came in and it wasn't her fault I turned her down. It was a passing moment with no physical contact and no socialising. She got 100!

I, too, have never been offered any 'special' boys, and I've been there because I rather like the jolly straightforwardness of the boys.

You're quite right, Papillon, I know what you mean. I've had the same experience there many times and that's what makes the place so special

Regarding the mamasans and their 'usefulness', there's one question nobody hasn't been able to answer so far: "WHY ARE THERE MAMASANS AT ALL?"
I can understand that there needs to be some short of 'boss', be it a cashier or someone who looks after the boys. Or else, with the lads' boisterous temperaments, things might easily get out of control (which I wouldn't mind

)
Anyway, why are there bunches of such nags in most of the bars? All they do is annoy and banish customers. Is that the purpose of the business?
