Tower Inn

Anyone have any thoughts on staying at the Tower Inn, good or bad?

I've stayed there many times and basically agree with df.

I never book a double and have never had trouble bringing a guest home.

It is quite a hoof during the heat of day down to the other send of Silom but you can hop on a bus or moto taxi quite easily.

I've never found fault with the shape of the rooms since they started renovating. Though I find the front desk service to alternate between brusqe and clueless.

I really like the pool on the roof as have many of my guests.

Tower Inn

I have stayed at the Tower Inn for at least ten years. I book through Asia Travel as it works out about Bt300 a day cheaper than direct with the hotel. I always ask for a double room with kingsize bed, take the two breakfast vouchers in case I need them and have never had any trouble bringing back guests.

Agree the reception desk and account desk personnel can be a bit offish, but the bell boys, room service and restaurant staff I have got to know (not in the biblical sense!) over the years and they now recognise me and have become very friendly.
Most days I tend to walk to Pat Pong easily, sometimes via Nature Boys and Golden Cock without getting all hot and bothered. Taxi back if with a boy.

For the price (Bt1700) I think good value. I have always found the rooms well cleaned. If I wanted better quality I could go to a higher starred hotel but why? I don't spend that much time in the room and when I do I am not examining the decor and furnishings. The less I spend on the room the more I have to spend on the boys.

Tower inn verses Pinnacle Hotel

I have stayed before in the Pinnacle Hotel, and was very satisfied.

How does it compare in quality and location with Tower Inn?

Booking with Jimmy,

Don't hold your breath waiting for confirmation from Jimmy, if you don't get a response after 6 emails, send an email to the hotel direct, asking if a booking has been made, and usually a reply comes by return.
I think Jimmy is snowed under with bookings, I've never failed to get a room, but you need patience
I visit 4 or 5 times a year for many years now, so perhaps he assumes I'll be coming anyway, you now need to pay him cash within 24 hours to obtain the low rate, it never used to be , but some low life checked out, without paying him, and now sensibly, it's cash in advance.
