Suriwongse Hotel

I wonder whether you may advise me on Suriwongse HOtel in BANGKOK. I tried to book a room there and the only replies I got -using internet - were from Suriwongse Hotel In Chang Mai and Suriwongse Tower Hotel in Bangkok.

This hotel seems to be very conveniently located (previously I stayed in Painnacle which was ok but rather far from Silom/Suriwongse). I heard it has a cafe with boys.. Did it change name? Or perhaps went bankrupt? Please advise

Suriwongse

tHE phone number there is 02 266 8257 It does have a cafe and a couple boys usually hang around but not in the numbers they once did. It use to be a fun place to hang out but has drastically changed the rules on the boys hanging around. Rooms clean but very basic. The location and the fact they have short time rooms is very appealing.

Hotel

Not only the MRT is easily accessible from Pinnacle Hotel, you can get a bus to Silom area. There's so many buses going the way and it cost just 6bht - 10bht. The room at Pinnacle will be definitely much better than Suriwong Hotel. Do you know that some of the rooms there does not have any windows?

When I asked about Manohra I got just one info that this hotel caters for package tours (kind of discouragement I suppose), therefore I thought about Suriwongse but now I may end up with a room without windows. Well, booking a room in Bangkok may not be so easy as I thought..
I liked Pinnacle but sometimes I got tired with walking or finding transportation back to the hotel. I did not know there is MRT station nearby. It must have been opened only very recently (from Silom to Pinnacle ??)
Thank you guys for your suggestions

Stay at The Bavana Hotel. It is directly in front of The Suriwongse Hotel....right on Suriwongse Road. Tell them you want a big room on the 6th or 7th floor. The room on the lower floors are for short-time only. Also, it may be wise to tell them that you want a room in the back....so you're not directly on Suriwongse Road. Guests in your room are not a problem....in fact, I think that they expect you to have a parade into and out of your room. Expect to pay about 1,200 baht a night, although they will try to tell you that the rooms cost 1,400 baht. Tell them you won't pay the higher rate and they'll give you the lower rate. Their phone number is 66-2-234-4000. You'll get an answering service in Thai. Simply press 0 to speak to someone in person. They have no website for reservations.

MRT is a bit of a walk from Pinnacle. In fact if you have walked there you might as well walk to Silom as it is about equal distance. Taxis are so easy to get in front of Pinnacle........

It takes about 3 minutes from the closest exit of LUMPINI Park station to PINNACLE hotel .
Even if you walk very slowly , just about 5 minutes .
Or you mean from the platforn ?

OK Ninja..............I'll time it next week............it is along an unpleasant walking street ( traffic) Yes, by the time you have walked there........ then got on to the train and travelled to Silom you could have walked the distance in less time
As I mentioned Taxi or motorbike in front of Pinnacle is fastest

Yes, but by taking the subway, you also avoid that death-defying (if you are on foot) crossing of Sathorn Road....
