I was thrilled. Never in my life had I been flattered as much as this in just 2 days in just one place....it's at the Hispalis bathhouse in San Jose of Costa Rica.

A clean and well maintained place, I was told by the locals that this sauna is most popular in San Jose. It seemed true. I visited this place on Saturday and Tuesday - it was busy on both days from 4 PM. ( costs $9 on Sat and $7 on Tues). It's a big place, not so big as Babylon and Chakran, but is still big. It has several free-to-use cubicles, one small and one large steamroom with a maze, one dry sauna, a whirlpool, several lounging areas - some with TV, some with porn TV. Everything is on one floor.

Most guys are 30 - 40 y/o. Some 40+. A few 50+ and a few 20+. Most guys are in good shape, and good looking. I was the only Asian there, and probably the only Asian there for many months and years. A profrssional guy even admitted that he had a fantacy to have sex with Asian guys. I was glad to make his dream come true. Guess that's why I was popular.

Saw sucking and fucking in steamrooms. No free condoms and lubes, and several guys do not use them. I told a few guys I was not on a suicide mission. Not sure if they understood. Their English is quite limited. But some do bring their own condoms as I saw some used and discarded condoms as well.

Hispalis is conveniently located right in the centre. It's an enjoyable venue and worth a visit if you happen to pass through San Jose. But San Jose itself is a dump and is not worth a visit at all. Hotel and food is also expensive. Local 4-stars hotel ($90) by Costa Rican standard is equivalent to the 2-stars Pinnacle ($25) in Bangkok. It's worth to pay more for international hotels like the Holiday Inn ($125) if you want luxury.

Although the Hispalis is hot, I don't think I will go back to Costa Rica. Overall stay in San Jose and a drive and stay around Costa Rica is not worth the time and money spent in my opinion.
