You are handsome
You are beautiful You are hot I like your body I love your skin Someone who's 15 years younger and had a happy ending 69 with me even said You are sweet Guys touched me everywhere I walked Inviting eye contacts and smiles were everywhere.... I was thrilled. Never in my life had I been flattered as much as this in just 2 days in just one place....it's at the Hispalis bathhouse in San Jose of Costa Rica. A clean and well maintained place, I was told by the locals that this sauna is most popular in San Jose. It seemed true. I visited this place on Saturday and Tuesday - it was busy on both days from 4 PM. ( costs $9 on Sat and $7 on Tues). It's a big place, not so big as Babylon and Chakran, but is still big. It has several free-to-use cubicles, one small and one large steamroom with a maze, one dry sauna, a whirlpool, several lounging areas - some with TV, some with porn TV. Everything is on one floor. Most guys are 30 - 40 y/o. Some 40+. A few 50+ and a few 20+. Most guys are in good shape, and good looking. I was the only Asian there, and probably the only Asian there for many months and years. A profrssional guy even admitted that he had a fantacy to have sex with Asian guys. I was glad to make his dream come true. Guess that's why I was popular. Saw sucking and fucking in steamrooms. No free condoms and lubes, and several guys do not use them. I told a few guys I was not on a suicide mission. Not sure if they understood. Their English is quite limited. But some do bring their own condoms as I saw some used and discarded condoms as well. Hispalis is conveniently located right in the centre. It's an enjoyable venue and worth a visit if you happen to pass through San Jose. But San Jose itself is a dump and is not worth a visit at all. Hotel and food is also expensive. Local 4-stars hotel ($90) by Costa Rican standard is equivalent to the 2-stars Pinnacle ($25) in Bangkok. It's worth to pay more for international hotels like the Holiday Inn ($125) if you want luxury. Although the Hispalis is hot, I don't think I will go back to Costa Rica. Overall stay in San Jose and a drive and stay around Costa Rica is not worth the time and money spent in my opinion.

Yes, we did. We rent a car ( compact 4x4 - $63 a day inc insurance ) and did a small loop in the northwestern of San Jose. We went to Santa Elena ( 90 miles from San Jose ) which is a good starting point of the Forest Tours ( canopy tours, bridge walks, etc ). We did the Bridge Walk ($20), a 3 kilometres walk through rain forest on the ground and on 8 hanging bridges above-and-through the forest. Stayed at a cosy lodge in Santa Elena - $145 a night, no breakfast, no TV, no fridge !.
From Santa Elena, we drove clockwise around lake Arenal to the active Arenal Volcano. Stayed at www.hotellindavista.com ( a junior suite room $100 with breakfast ). Our room is on the hill overlooking the lake and the volcano. Beautiful view. It was very cloudy and we couldn't see any mini explosions and volcanic activities that the Arenal Volcano produce daily. We were told on the night with clear sky, you can see red explosions. The distance between each city is not far ( some 80 - 90 miles ) but it takes ages to get there, becasue most roads are unpaved, very bumpy. The ones that are paved have lots of potholes.

When I went to the Costa Rican embassy in London to obtain a visa ( no fee ), a female Costa Rican officer who was born, raised and lived in San Jose told me not to stay in San Jose more than one day because it's not a nice city and she was absolutely right.
To be fair, I think driving in the countryside was good. Scenery was beautiful, but I wasn't overwhelmed. I believe you have been to Bali, right? It's a similar drive, nothing more special, other than the cost of travel in Bali is less than half the cost of that in Costa Rica, and if your car breaks down in Bali you know you will be safe but in Costa Rica you have to pray for Buddha!. Although Costa Rica is so green with 9 months of rains per year and the land is so fertile that if you drop a sead anywhere it will grow, surprisinly crime and theft rate is so high. Most houses and buildings' windows have metal frames to protect lives and belongings from thefts. Security guards are also everywhere, even at McDonalds right in downtown San Jose and in a smaller town outside. A guy who I met and had fun at the Hispalis warned me and my friend not to walk back to the hotel becasue it's dangerous. I told him it's just about 10 minutes walk in the town centre. But he insisted we take a taxi !. I wouldn't rush back to Costa Rica if I still have other countries in my "to visit" list.
