Muffin Sauna?
 

I've been hearing about a new sauna just opened in Ladprao 113, across from the Mall Bangkapi. It's apparently called "Muffin" or "Muffil" or something like that, and has been attracting good crowds.

Anyone know more?

OK, to answer my own question it is MUFFILL Sauna. Found a thread (in Thai) on it at TGMassage. There's a map there. Entrance is only 99 baht.

Better than THE DOOR ?
 

I saw a post mentioned briefly about this new sauna on
a Thai-Japanese webboard today .

If this place is better than THE DOOR ( also on Lad Prao ),
I want to try ( This place is further down from the city centre )

There are also TEMPTATION and S CASA on the way to get there .
I have never been to TEMPTATION yet . Have you ?

I don't know if it's better than the Door or not (the Door is pretty good!), but a friend of mine was told that the reason the Door is pretty quiet these days is that a lot of their customers have started going to Muffill. I'd say it's definitely worth a visit to see what the fuss is about.

No, I've never been to Temptation...where is it? There are too many saunas around these days to keep track of. Is there any city in the world with more of them?

OK, let me be the first to say this:

MUFFILL IS THE BEST SAUNA IN BANGKOK RIGHT NOW

It has everything in one:

great price (99 baht)

great facilities (purpose-built, thoughtfully and tastefully designed, roomy, good cruising flow, lots of private rooms with big beds and lube, nice wood floors, good music, good reading material, real bar with real cocktails)

great clientele (young and hot)

great hours (until 17:00 until 2:00 a.m. most nights, 15:00 until 6:00 a.m. on weekends)

great theme nights (naked zone on Tuesdays/Thursdays, "hula hula" nights -- I guess that's grass skirts or loin cloths -- on Mondays/Wednesdays, underwear on Fridays and Saturdays)

friendly staff

easy parking in safe upper-middle-class residential neighborhood

no other farangs

I debated whether or not to let the cat out of the bag -- or just keep the place for myself. But, ultimately, I can't keep something this good to myself. Hopefully the distance from the CBD will keep the crowd young, hot, and primarily local.

Ninja, get over there fast and confirm everything I've said so people won't think I have an interest in this place!

By the way, I did ask the owner what "Muffill" was supposed to mean. He responded that the name was originally going to be "Muffin" -- as in "Stud Muffin". But he decided he liked "double l" at the end better than "n". Ooookkay...whatever!

The Thais seem to think that L is pronounced like an N if placed after a vowel (like their king's name), L and N must be interchangeable. Never understood how they got such an idea.

It is real hustle to get there on weekdays , I am afraid .

I'd say it is about 750 meters into the soi. Quite far. But there was a sign up saying that the moto boys at the pak soi would give patrons of the sauna a free ride in.

Also note that the nude zone starts at 20:00, so time your visit accordingly!

For Ninja it's easy to get there..even on weekdays..after leaving Big C toilets, Pratunam, turn right and walk 200 meters to the khlong boat that will have you at The Mall, Bangkapi in 25 minutes. Last boat leaves around 7pm. Soi 113 is barely 500 meters from The Mall.

Good to have you posting cruising news more often Icon.There are some very good contributors here but Cupidman and yourself give it added zip and credibility.Hope Wow Pow hasn't lost interest either.

yea its a great place just went there to check it out - wanted to keep it a bid local and unknown to farangs- but okok its out now. Very very hot young crowd thats the main thing for me. All other stuff is great great 4sure. But nothing beats brown boys legs with tight smooth hot bums- u can just like fuck ur brains out . Also for bttms and vers its like heaven cause these boys wanna fuck u real hard can tell u. :p

(Wed) on several Thai - Japanese web boards today .

As you admired this place , he did too .

Thanks for your advice , but Itravelled that way to my favorite THE DOOR sauna before to beat notoriuos traffic jam around Bang Kapi , but NEVER again !
I got dark smelly dirty khlong ater splash on my white shirt . :(

Anyway , as so many gay web board talking about this new sauna ( and in several different languages ) , I am afraid this place soon will be outnumbered by people who have never patroniz this place before . like all other saunas in BKK

I EXPECTED a motor sai FREE ride , but couldn't see any motor sai riders around the Pak soi Ladprao 113 at all at 4PM and again 5PM .

If you walk from the THE MALL klong pier , it takes about 15 minute hot walk .
If you come from the city centre by bus , DON'T GET OFF at the bus stop of Soi 111 . There are still 2 more Sois before Soi 113 and Soi 111 .
Get off at Soi 111/1 bus stop . It takes about 5 munute walk from the pak soi .

Though their ad on this month gay map says they open at 3PM , they didn't open even at 4PM , so I had to come back again around 5PM .
Still they were not ready to open , so some customers were waiting in the reception area . :( ( they are supposed to open at 5PM on weekdays now )

Sorry , I have no time to write adetailed report now , but comming soon .

I can say is now MANY guys in their 30's and 40's DISCOVERED this place already , so don't expect young slim college boy types are running up and down every where .
Say , only a small prtion of the customers were in their early 20's .
Yes , there are some late 20's .
Many 30's amd 40's , and the most of them are chubby .
Not much difference with other typical local suansa , so I didn't need to be stood out . :p

But I don't know about weekends especially after midnight ( they open till 6AM )
Maybe they attract early 20's young slim hot guys ( probably heavily drunked ) from neaby gay discos ( Or they just use this place as an accommodation :p )

DARKEST NAKED ZONE in BKK
 

Before this sauna opened , I thought the darkest ( lighting ) sauna was THE BAAN THAI . But now I gave the ( dis) honour to MUFFILL .
Especially their naked zone ( the whole 3rd floor ) is too dark to see almost everything . :mad:
You cannot tell if they are goodlooking , cute or handsome .
( you can spot chubby guys though )

WHY do we enter a naked zone ?
Maybe because you want to show .
Probably because you want to see naked bodies ( and many of them ) , OR the combination of them .

WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING A NAKED ZONE , if you cannot tell what kind of guy you have sex with ? ( some people don't want to be seen or identified for some reasons ? )
By the way they stopped the naked hour around 11PM for that day .

Not only the naked zone , but also the most area of the second floor is very dark .
But the maze is slightly brighter than the naked ATTIC because of the rotating lighting sysytem , so it was very very busy and cruisy . Many of guys came back to the second floor from the naked zone after they found out what I found .

But one possitive thing I can say is young guys come here are very very accessible . They have almost NO ATTITUDE . I mean they rarely refuse you .

But again , if this place is so dark , they have a big potential to attract middle age ( and older ) unfit guys . Because they can hide deep inside of the NAKED ATTIC or this maze , and ATTACK young slim guys . Just like FAROSE's and THE BEACH's dark rooms . They are REALLY agressive .

YES , Icon , as you said , this place is tastefully designed , just like another new sauna K PLACE in Phahoyolthin , but this place is much bigger ( 99 Bhats locker chrge is very cheap )
And the maze like spacious steem room is very well designed indeed , but I found no action , though I dropped in about 5 times . Maybe because this steam room is lot brighter than other cruising areas .

I don't know if typical local Thai guys care the full cocktail bar .
I guess they prefer FREE booze and FREE karaoke .

If I go to Ladprao area , I still stick to THE DOOR sauna .
We can pick up a clean bath towel every time when we come back to the Non-naked zone , and a hand towel to go up the half naked roof top , while we find only one bath towel in a locker ( on a day they have naked hours ) at MUFFILL .

The lighting is JUST good . Not too bright , not too dark in THE DOOR's naked zone . You can see young sexy naked bodies in the VDO corner clearly .
Their clients are sexier to my taste .
And they DO have FREE booze and FREE Karaoke (which is the staple to local gay saunas )

On the other hand , in MUFFILL , you have to hand your bath towel to a staff when you entre the naked zone . And You have to tell your locker number to him because YOU WILL GET THE SAME DIRTY BATH TOWEL WITH LOTS OF CUM SHOTS you got in the maze ( YES ! Mine was ) when you come down to the non-naked area .

You are right, Ninja. Even though they have raised their entrance fee to 120 baht, it is still worth it for all the eye candy. And I am definitely not one of those annoying, pawing old uncles. I usually wait for someone to show interest in me rather than initiating it.

Anyway, I was the only farang I saw there last night.

PS: there were a couple of young (20+) and cute Japanese guys coming in as I was leaving.

It was also underwear night, and I wasn't prepared with anything special...maybe that's why I didn't get much attention.

Man, did I ever get lucky last night at Muffil! There was this one guy, incredibly gorgeous, body to die for...the sexiest guy in the whole place (to me, anyway). I smiled at him, he gave me a huge, white-teethed smile back, and off we went!

He complained to me that he'd been pursued aggressively all night by an ill-mannered, pawing, older Singaporean, who had finally offered him 10,000 baht for half an hour of fun in a cabin. You should have seen the look on the Singaporean's face when the two of us closed the cabin door behind us.

The place was packed again, with only one other foreigner (an older one) in sight.

OK, this place has gotten a little too popular for its own good. At 10:00 p.m. tonight (Saturday), I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get in the place. And you could forget finding an empty room. The good news is that it was chock-a-block with young cuties, and only one other white face in sight.

no, but as there are well over 40 sauna's in BKK by now (see listing on sites like dragoncastle or tmmsociety-all down under after the Thai), you cannot reasonably expect reports from all that all the time.
In the general sauna thread I'll try to keep up with a general view and some personal visits to very nearby (as I now also sit on RamKamHaeng-the TRIO and TORPEDO), Muffill is very closeby-in a soi off LardPrao at Bangkapi

Don't know Burano, City of Angels not my cup of tea (each to his own), but:

- Otoko, I guess 15 to 20 years back, I can recall many really great times at this venue with lots of very pleasant young men. One of the very first such venues. Limped along for many years then failed and closed, and of course years later the same style of venue now flourishing with dozens of venues.

- David D'Bangkok, again many many years back, some great times with really nice always hot guys, always pleasant and polite, great memories.

Also one of the very first such venues, very Thai operation, not looking for farang customers (but not negative to farang customers), usually had to take your time to let the massage man get used to the idea of having a farang customer, and usually some 'shock' that the farang could speak Thai.

I met a Silpakporn university student there a long long time ago, he's now a dear friend and holds a high position in the Thai Fine Arts ministry.

- Colosseum, on Vipavadee Rangsit Road, gone many years ago.

- The Male, in the small soi on Sukhumvit just one up from the Nana intersection. It was a sauna, had massage men and you could request massage men to do a go go show (in bikini), from memory 10 minutes, and again if my memory is correct, for 40Baht plus tip to the dancing man. Gone many many years ago.

The Colony was best of all times for me.
