I have been past Jo's Salon (mentioned in TP's post near the top) a couple of times but never seen anyone out front I would fancy for a massage....and it is not in the sort of neighborhood where boys would be hidden out back. I mean, if they are there, surely they would be there to be seen. But then again, maybe I am just looking for an excuse not to make the first move! It's just that it doesn't have the look and feel of a gay (or straight) massage place...just a sparse barber shop. But then again, I rememeber a fine place in Manila on Aurora Blvd that wasa run-down barber shop...but as soon as you sat down and started having the haircut, several hot lads would appear from the inner woodwork and sit on the bench and vie(?) for your attention in the mirror. When the cutting was finished, you took the winning boy upstairs. But on Suksawat soi 14(sub soi 15 approx for those who intend to go try)..I am not so sure.

I did try one guy from that massage website . He did not look half as good as the pics and everythingelse was lousy. I did give him more than what he asked for since he took the time to come to my hotel. I enjoyed his company but didn't have sex with him. I bought him dinner and spent time chatting with him after a terrible massage............

It's better to be able to inspect the goods before you make a purchase. So go directly to those massage places to get what you really want even if you have to pay alittle more.......good luck!

I've e-mailed several of the lads on the massage website and have yet to hear back from any of them. I agree with LostNoomThai.....go into a massage place and check out all of the goods. It's better to see than to hope.

Pricing

O noted above that someone took a guy for two hours. The last time I did that I was charged 2 massages at Bt450 plus 2 drinks at Bt220 and 2 boys tips at Bt1000 =Bt3340 which I complained about but paid.

Is that pricing usual?

Pricing policies change from place to place....and sometimes from customer to customer. If you took one boy for two hours, it doesn't seem like you should have been charged for two boys for two hours. Plus, I'm not sure where you got your massage boy, but I've never been in a massage place where I had to buy a boy a drink.

Also, most massage places have prices for 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours. Some places also have prices for "four hands" massage....which means two boys.

Places are beginning to have "suggested minimum" tips listed. This is usually 500 THB for "small tip" (which means a hand job) and 1,000 THB for "large tip" (which means the full monty). Additional tipping is "Up to you"....although I never do.

I'd suggest NOT going back to the place that took such advantage of you.

Gentleman Club has a fixed price menu. Each different type of massage separately priced and the minimum tip is stated. Again, if very good than give more as an encouragement for him to give the same service to others and as a thank you for your satisfaction.

The barber shop is gone now...it used to be on Aurora Blvd...running west from Cubao....almost opposite the Magnolia Plant...but another place that was good in the area is Datu
1823 FMSG Bld, E. Rodriguez Avenue (near the corner of New York St), Quezon City. They were there at the same time as the barber shop and may rmemeber it or similar places.

Have to disagree with you BillinBkk. I know several masseurs that work at Adonis and GQ. The minumum Tip of 500 baht is (in their mind) for massage only. 1000 - 1200 for a handjob.. and UP for anything else.

For Tijhor8..I think this is maybe what you meant...not GQ:
"Gent's Club is located in the heart of the city so it is easy to get there. From either Phetburi or Sukhumvit road , drive in to soi Thonglor. When passing the sign "Thonglor soi 8" , you will clearly see "Baan Pai." The Gent's Club is in soi sukhumvit 55. For more details, please call 0-2390-0197 , 0-6891-9431"
http://www.gentsclubhomespa.com/contact.html

I think there used to be..or still is..a massage place that was named Gentleman's also..in the next soi to Door Sauna...they used to advertise in Bangkok Post Classifieds.

Has anyone tried Manisa?
http://www.gthai.net/manisa/contact.html
It's on Petkassem soi 62/1 but looks very straight and uninteresting on the outside. It's advertised in gay sites.

That's true, but I don't know how it works. When I made a "purchase" at Albury lasy year, I did not tell mamason and my masseur how long I wanted the massage. No one asked me either. At the end, I did not really know how long I was in the massage room. My companion, who took me to Aubury and waited for me, told me it was about 1.5 hour. When I checked out I was billed just for an hour.

Maybe it's best not to be so specific about the length of time from the outset. Don't worry about it as long as you enjoy it.

Dear Thai Guy,

Your companion must have had a "senior's moment" or is economical with the truth. Most massages are for one hour and if you get a crafty young man it can clock in at less.Watch out for premature ejaculation too, though I doubt that applies to you.

Hi BE

Thanks for warning. Fortunately I am not interested in "young" men ( I assume you mean guys in early 20 or younger ?). My previuos masseur is 27-29 years old and he is gay. He did enjoy the sex part and was not in a hurry to leave the room at all.

Will keep your warning in mind for next time I may like to try a "straight" masseur.
