I went in there about a year ago and found a boy I liked. THEN the mamasan told me that the fee was 2,000 THB PLUS tip for the boy. I questioned the mamasan who told me "2,000 includes room and oil (as if that was some special deal)....but MUST give boy tip on top of that". I told the mamasan I thought that was a bit excessive because most other places were charging from 400-600 THB. The mamasan got up and walked away....so I left and never went back.

I was there earlier today, and confirm: 1,500 for one hour, 2,000 for two hours, all-inclusive.
There were ten boys on duty, about half gay-looking and half straight-looking. Some nice lookers in the mix. The place itself is pretty basic. Nothing like Albury, Hero, Aqua, or Arena. There's a locker room for changing clothes, one shower, and four rooms. When you come in and sit down, the boys form a semi-circle about five feet away. Too close to really question the Mamasan, I felt. In any case, I was happy with the boy I chose, and the service provided. He seemed surprised (and happy) that I tipped him an extra 250 baht after establishing that he got only 50% of the 1,500 baht fee. I thought he deserved 1,000 for the service he provided.

Sitting at Dick's cafe last nite trapped by the rain, I caught the eye of a cute masseur outside Bonny's. With no great expectation, and a few aching muscles, I decided to ask for a real massage, paid my 500 bt and ordered the oil massage. The cute 19 y.o. turned out to be the best ever, and gave me a full hour of deep, effective and sensual massage , concluding in a very happy ending! He was certainly straight, but a wonderful body with the cute face of a classic thai beauty.

They don't do this at Agua, do they? If so, I think I will have to give it a miss ( until I have more experience I think ).

I nearly forgot to mention...
I went to Agua, and was shocked by the mamason there. He is very very unfriendly. I told him to give us sometime to look around. He went away for a few seconds ( no typo error here - I mean SECONDS ) then back sit with us again. Frankly, he looks not only like a bitch but he also acts like one. One masseur caught my eyes, but I was fear to ask the bitch any questions. I really got a feeling that if I asked him more than one question he would kill me. We found it extremely uncomfortable and decided to leave. When I said I came in to look for Jai (Thanks Buddha, he wasn't there which gave me an excuse to leave !) and I was not interested in anyone else he slammed the picture album on the table. We were there for about 10 minutes or less but I wished I could have left this place sooner. Icon, how can you possibly put up with him?. Just ignore him or what?

Not sure which one you're talking about, but I've heard similar complaints that Thais are not treated as well there as farangs.
Anyway, I tend to be pretty direct -- why not? If I don't want the Mamasan hanging around, I tell them to go away until I call them. If they come back before them, I say, "I thought I told you I'd call you when /if I needed you. Now, please let me sit alone". Politely, of course.

I haven't been to Aqua for years (too far out of the way) but definitely remember the pushy mamasan. It could be a different pushy mamasan though :-)
I also remember the boy telling me (doesn't it seems that they love to tell you the most awful stories?) of how a farang had died during his massage. They called his hotel and his poor wife had to come to identify his body.

If we are talking about the same mamasan then he doesn't treat farangs any lighter.I quietly asked him once to refrain from telling me what I already could see eg "this boy is slim, this boy has tatoos, this boy has muscles ".All had shirts off.I coolly asked him not to push so much and he hissed "but i am doing my job".
Don't know how there is confusion about who he is.A total handbag, groomed in a male beauty parlour style circa 1970 trying to be continental. If a Thai theatre company staged "Boys in the Band" he would suit a couple of roles.A real gay museum piece.

I think I know who you're talking about. He always comes over with the stupid photo album, even though I never look at it because 1) half the boys who are in it aren't on duty; 2) half the boys who ARE on duty aren't in it; 3) pics of the boys who are on duty and are in it are many years old.
We go through the same ritual every time. He brings over the book, I give it back to him, order a beer, and ask him to leave me alone and have a good look at the boys on my own until I'm ready to ask questions. Then, I ask the questions and he gives answers. Otherwise, I have no time for him either and have no problem letting him know it. He can be a pain in the ass, but it's the boys I'm after and Aqua has some great ones. PS: if you like straight guys who can do everything -- and passionately -- check out the guy named "Oo". He's pretty spectacular.

Your approach is the intelligent one Icon but when in Bkk I don't engage in confrontation even though at home I can spar verbally.I also like to go to Aqua for the same reasons as you especially when nothing is happening for me after dark.Simmering tensions would spoil the erotic desire once there so I bite my tongue.
ps.I think he wears HOM swimwear.

I wouldn't really call it "confrontation". Most bitchy queens I know kind of expect to be treated bitchily in return. Bitchiness is almost a game with them. It's not like you're going to piss someone off who's going to be waiting for you in the parking lot with a baseball bat.

No dear, it's not going to be her who waits for me in the parking lot with a bat in her hand. But it's going to be me who waits for her with a gun in my hand!. I cann't describe enough how terrible she is. You think her attitude is bad enough, wait when she opens her mouth it gets even worse. I cannot believe how the owner employs people like this to work in the front line to meet and greet with general customers.
