Will make my first trip to Udon Thani next week. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to visit - sauna, go go bar, meeting places? Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like much is there. The only places recommended are an "off bar near the bus station, in the soi where the 7-11 is" and a pub named "Mr. Thong", opposite Robinsons Charoensri.

The host bar in the soi beside the bus station has moved many months ago...but not that far away. It's simply called Boy bar..or similar. I have had some very good boys from there, but it can be hit or miss. The current directions..as of two weeks ago are...come out of Robinson's...walk across the road to the yellow bar right opposite..maybe called Mr Thongs(they have some very cute waiters..but it's not an off/host bar). Turn right and walk about 50 meters to the first junction with lights. Turn left and walk down there about 100 meters and turn into the first soi on the right....it's a row of shop houses and Boy bar is about 50 meters up there on the left..opens around 8pm..

Now, if you like street/vendor/working boys, come out of Robinson's and look to your right(on the same side of the street) and next to the mall is a row of flower shops. The third(?) shop along has a very cute lad working there who loves to chat and can help you find a short-time(or all night in my case) hotel that just happens to be past the flower shop and turn right and it's immediately on your right and just Bht350 a night. He is usualy free after 10pm. If you buy some flowers, he will not only help you find the hotel but probably help carry your bag to the room and maybe even check that the shower works properly...even though he may be a little shy to check out the shower together on the first date. I found him very helpful!
