Pattaya news

Whenever unsavoury news about Pattaya is posted defenders of the place can get irate.I am told the attitude should be don't worry there's a greater chance of being involved in a road accident. Here are a couple more items from Dragoncastle's gay Asia.

BITISH MAN ROBBED AT HOME - 24 June 2006
Pattaya - A British man living in a house in Jomtien with his Thai boyfriend was the victim of a robbery that police suspect may have been an inside job. The Briton had fitted his house with many security features, among them a door entry system, yet this did not stop a team of armed men quietly entering the house and surprising Mr Paul Futcher, 56, at his computer. They forced him at gunpoint to open a safe that contained over 400,000 baht in cash, as well as other valuables, before trying him up and fleeing the scene. Mr Futcher managed to free himself and call the police, who later said that the men must have had knowledge of the house security system to carry out the raid. Mr Futcher's Thai boyfriend was away from the house at the time of the robbery.

MORE LADYBOY TROUBLE IN PATTAYA - 20 June 2006
Pattaya - Two more ladyboys were arrested for assault and theft yesterday in this resort town. An Austrian man was drinking at a bar in "Walking Street" when two katoeys came up to him and enganged him in conversation, when he realised that they were trying to steal his phone an wallet, they became violent. The police were called and the two were arrested. All visitors to Pattaya are warned to be careful of the ladyboys there, especially (but no only) on the beachside promenade, as there are frequent reports from Pattaya of thefts and attacks by ladyboys.

I bet there is a lot more to worry about in BKK

Well I dont know why you would want to print these 2 incidents going on in Pattaya when you can find many bad things happening in Bangkok far worst in every country of the world.

I feel the safest In pattaya then any where in the world, where i use to live in Spain was getting so dangerous we were worried to walk the dark streets at night, also go to South Africa, South America or America for that matter, even in the Uk far more dangerous then in Thailand so get your priorities right.

These are items of interest for cruisers reading CFS Thailand and are part of a small trend over the years in Pattaya.I add them (all originally from Dragoncastle) so people are not deluded that it is all "land of smiles" - forewarned is forearmed. It may be pertinent info for first timers.Play with money boys and you play with fire.No need for fear but head in the sand attitudes are for the ignorant.

Also nowhere have I been alarmist as to compare these frequent occurences to South Africa,America or South America.

you quote" I dont know why you would want to print these 2 incidents going on in Pattaya".My answer is Censorship ? No thanks!

All the news that's fit to print.

Not so hot news from Pattaya

Thanks for your posts Brief Encounter. I, for one, appreciate knowing what the trends are here in The Kingdom. Obviously, BigBoy is an ambassador for the Pattaya Chamber of Commerce and would rather have tourists take a chance...rather than to be forewarned. Keep posting!!!!!!!!!

safe as houses

Where else can you wander down dark back roads and feel safe, if there is any problems they are usually thai to thai, the most dangerous thing to avoid in Thailand, is the motor bike now this is where you really need to be afraid.

doom and gloom is all you can show us a couple of problems like on offer, go to any western country and there will be so many problems you wonder why you'd want to live there.

That's why more and more want to live in the the land of smiles we call Paradise. get real.

Well,my topic isn't urban problems in Pattaya versus urban problems internationally and I am glad that ageing and out of shape farangs have found paradise in 'God's waiting room" with young guys who could be their grandsons(never a good look). To say my intention is to compare Pattaya to New York,Rio or Capetown misses the pont - widely.

Again, the post is merely a warning for innocent, lonely cruisers of all ages and shapes(sizes!) to take care in certain situations; this is a message board for cruisers to pass on information of interest to others after all. If you look closely at the thread more than two incidents are listed here btw.

If you want really tough insights into the lonely hearts scene try the heterosexual message board "Stickman weekly".You can love Thailand and also understand the underbelly.

No doom and gloom at all Pattaya Pollyanna's,just information.

Wow you do have sa many hang ups

quote from brief encounter:- "If you want really tough insights into the lonely hearts scene, I am glad that ageing and out of shape farangs have found paradise in 'God's waiting room" with young guys who could be their grandsons(never a good look)".

If this is what you think of us who come to Thailand god help you........So your trying to tell us you are so superior you can stand up and not count your self and a cruiser of stunning hunks, who wish to offer there services to farangs who appreciate them.

What a lot of crap you talk who do you think you are god almighty, what you doing on a Thai Forum with all your High and mighty pretenses, you must think we cant see through your prissy act of trying to tell every one your so wonderful and every one else is a dirty bit of rubbish.

No we can look after our own security, we all dont need a put down queen like you, to pretend your something special why do you think we come to Thailand to get away from hideous queens like you. just because you would not be accepted in a normal gay bar, dont spoil our space with your vile verbal diarrhea

What I don't want to see any more of is this kind of post by BigBoy. Hype is one thing. Personal attacks are another.
