I've noticed something new (a farang friend mentioned this happening to him a few months ago, and it just happened to me now). I met a Thai guy on thailovelinks.com and we met at the end of December and talked for 3 hours, but he had to run. He has a nice job and a car and lives with his mother. Then, he kept texting that he missed and loved me so much. I texted back, but his responses were erratic (would not hear back for a long time). A few days ago he sent me some e-mails and quickly mentioned wanting to borrow some money (no amount stated). I wrote that I can't lend or give him any money. He wrote back that he was just "testing" me to see what my "intentions" were! Apparently this is their new thing to say when you say no. (What's funny is in one of my early texts to him after meeting him, I said I like Thai guys with good jobs who save their money and don't need any money.)

Was wondering why Gay Romeo has such a huge user base here and in Malaysia and Singapore ? These areas in particular are regularly offering me commercial propositions either blatantly
or between the lines. It is a curious site. i am happiest with Gaydar and Fridae but would like to know what CFS thinks. |
I just find Romeo the quickest and easiest to use with profile, pics and comments about the guys all available in a flash, and good interactive chat facility. As a member you have can multiple profiles, choose to be invisible on-line, identify favourites and block pests.

I've tried Gay Romeo more than once, both for hookups and escorts. I gave up pretty quickly. I just don't get it.

It is relatively easy to meet guys from Gayromeo, especially when one has set definite dates visiting a particular city or location. Just get all your details & lots of pics on your profile. I'm referring to my experience in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia & Cambodia, & even Myanmar.
Last weekend, out of 7 or 8 guys listed on Gayromeo in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, I managed to get 3 positive contacts, and actually met 2 of them. The third I did not meet since I decided to purchase group tour from a local agent instead of using a free-lance gay guide. The first guy was a 20-year old student, and he was my dinner companion, & took me around the city on his motorbike & we checked out the only gay hotel/bar in town. The second guy actually worked at the gay hotel(Cheers), and I believe was luring Gayromeo gays to the establishment. But he was a very friendly Thai from Chiang Rai. I saw & met some Khmer guys alone, & with foreigner friends at Cheers. I also met some guys from one of the many beachside bars/restaurants & had good karaoke sessions with them - would you believe it that a good karaoke session with 4 jugs of Ankor beer & a pack of cigarettes cost less than USD8!. And the beer was simply smooth & delicious. One of them was very friendly & we could have gone all the way...but he had Emma tatooed on his chest:((he actually came to inspect my room, but...)...another time perhaps:). |
I've tried in London and New York. No luck.

Thanks.
Still wondering why over 1000 users at a time for Thailand (mostly) yet China,Japan etc have only a fraction of users. Why does Romeo have a big user base in Bkk,KL and Sg ? |
I think the boys in China and Japan tend to stick to local Chinese/Japanese sites.

The posts on Sihanoukville in Cambodia have been moved to a new thread in the Asia forum. Please keep discussing Sihanoukville in that thread. Thanks!

those of you after this, may try out a fairlty new site, all in Thai: moke69.com. Found this as it was listed under a google. Seems more straight at the goal as gayromeo. (yes-it is a pun-the S is omitted).
BTW: the last year or so (I use the www in shops) I have sat beside 2 guys busy on GR. One was in fact mostly asleep [very early morning) the other one seemed ashamed and then got the grasp as I called up a similar site. Sometimes you do not even to go through all those loopholes...... |
