and an informative question- re Sukhumvit Plaza-thats the Korean place about opposite that new Terminal 21 hype-shopping centre. Unimen-ex B&N massage is also in there.
There was a sauna name Playroom. Confirm closed?
When I searched the list of places near the lift, it showed 1 sauna; The King And I. Anyone knows anything about that?
It seems our dear moderator is a fountain of information, but only comes out when challenged?

and anohter new place opened:
GAYA sauna- by a mr. Freeman-known from Albury and the dance-arena. It is not really in Ratchyothin, as their ad says-but further on, along Phahonyotin, between soi 37 and the Kasert crossing-in some court. Thus a little further as Cruising1-opposite side. Open 12-24.00, entry for students 50 bt.

A must for the fashionistas

The web site of the new sauna shows a pic of its steam room which is decorated as a Louis Vuitton luggage.

This afternoon, I visited GG Sauna (Soi Ronnachai 2, behind Samsen Train Station) -- the first time in many years.

I was happy to see that the place seemed to have been spruced up a tiny little bit, and was well patronized.

I was sad to learn, however, that they no longer have staff on hand offering massages.

Late afternoon on this particular Friday, the patrons were much the same as I found at Bangkok 10: largely older and/or quite corpulent. It is much friendlier than Bangkok 10, though, and more Thai-Thai than Chinese-Thai. The older gents (many of whom looked like they might be retired military or police -- lots of mustaches and amulets) seem to use it as a social club, chatting in groups, drinking whiskey, and singing hoary old karaoke hits. A couple were well into their eighties.

The place has the standard facilities: sauna, steam, TV lounge, porn room, restaurant/karaoke, and cruising areas in a sprawling old two-story house.

Condoms and lube available on request from the counter.

Perhaps fans of the old GSM Sauna would also enjoy this place.

FAROSE 1- the one in Sapan Kwai.
This is one of the very, very few sois where the motosy boys balk at you when you walk. There is now a bekpek-style hostel halfway-UDEE-,where you have to turn right into a subsoi for sauna. if you go onward, the locals will yell at you; sauna! No good 9at least that ws what I encountered).
Entry was 150 bt and 1 cdm was given-more for sale@5 bt. DO check that your locker is properly locked. a DUMP-a real dump. 16 yrs old now and showing it as double that. And a real maze-its is 3 houses beside broken open, so 3 stairs making orientation difficult for a 1st timer. Free food-the 10 bt variety, on top deck. Free soft drinks in some kind of bar-where i was very enthusiastically greeted by 2 ladymen-as they said, fom Surin. Untill a new barkeeper came and turned the volume so high I had to split or my ears would split.
Did not find any real sauna (hot air cublicle), but plenty of togetherness in the karaOKroom. The cabins mostly have small or big holes for spying and all seem to have round ''sofa's.''.
Was fairly busy-but it seemed to me 75% waiting for some fillup, and just 25% to do that.

Now that's what I call good news! It would be great if you could give some info regarding the demographics of their guests nowadays.

I spent a couple pleasant hours tonight at Cruising II Sauna -- formerly Sukhothai Health Club. It had been years since I was there last, and almost nothing has changed.

On this weekday evening before Songkran, I found a small crowd of a couple dozen customers -- none especially pretty, but all quite outgoing and friendly (perhaps it had something to do with the free whiskey being served). Several sought me out for conversation, drinks, and shall we say more intimate affairs.

The place is pretty run-down, but fairly clean. There are lockers, steam room, sauna, karaoke room, showers, and some private rooms downstairs. Upstairs is a maze, porn room, and very dark cruising area with private rooms. Condoms and lube are for the asking at the counter.

Muffil Sauna

I finally visited Muffil Suana last night after having heard so much about it over the past couple of years.

What can I say - Oh My God! It was incredible. Out of all the "local" places I have been to so far in Thailand, including Mania, Cruising I and II, Farose, Dejavu, Torpedo, and 39 Underground, this was by far and away the best in terms of quantity and quality of the guys.

We arrived at 9:30pm. At that time, which is considered very early for Muffil, there were maybe about 50 guys there. The "Naked zone" was open until midnight. There is the usual locker room which leads into an open room with a couple of sofas and stairs going up to the cruising floors (two of them) and stairs going down to the lower floor and outside area which includes the showers, steam, sauna, gym etc.

The cruising areas are, as expected, dimly lit but not so that one cannot see clearly the treats on offer.

By midnight, the place was like the Asoke BTS station - literally, there were hundreds of young, hot guys. Most had good bodies, some spectacular. Many handsome guys. There was only one guy that I saw who was a little overweight and one who was very overweight. I'd say most guys were in the early to mid twenties, with some in their late 20's and early 30's.

To my surprise, I was very popular. I had offers left and right and ended up having a bit of everything with four different guys. I could have had many more but it was getting late and I was quite tired. Once the guys knew I could speak Thai the word spread and they became so much more friendly. The majority of guys are without attitude and easy to approach.

I cannot believe I have not been here before - but this will not be my last visit. I left at 2:30am - which is unheard of for me.

For those of you who have not visited, I urge you to give it a try.

Had very enjoyable nights at both Male Box (near Rama 2 Central) and Heaven. I am 55 and chubby and I am always amazed (and delighted) that if you show a smile and do not play the important farang then there will be Thais who want to play. The 3 guys I met were all muscled studs. No mention of money, in fact it has been years since anyone wanted money when I have been ay sauans, including Sansuk in Pattaya 2 weeks ago.

actually, when I think about it, please do not go to any of the "local" saunas. Please stick to Babylon if you are a farang (I don't want competition and I would rather be the only friendly, smiling, chubby foreigner there)

Me again. I don't think much of the Saphan Kwauy cinema. I know it is 4 years since my last visit but it was soooo dark that it was difficult to move around. Ladyboys are not my scene and they seem to dominate there. Will have to try Chinatown and Hawaii cinemas. I went for a walk to Soi Elizabeth Hotel but found Adonis sauna (went there 20 yrs ago) closed and locked. Elizabeth hotel in a time warp from 1980s, all dark wood and I am sure original fittings. Had some sort of conference with all the Thai men wearing what to me were scouts scarves. Could not see any remains of Pradipat cinema. I went there (in 1980s when my eyes were better, I guess). Last visit ended with snarling dogs stopping me in the soi. It was really cavernous. At least the films there gave some light but the one today had a kind of negative quality so that it threw little light out to the seating area.
