Hey, guys! Back in Thailand after some good fun Manila-style.

Staying in and around Bangkok/Pattaya for awhile, and could use some friendly advice..

Any venue in either place that offers guys a bit more on the "street tough" type? I am kinda over the soft and twink look, and hoping to have some more edgy fun.

All advice more than welcome... and I promise to report back as well.

For the street toughs and AYOR, go to Lumpini Park in the late afternoon (closing time 8pm?), or Rama IV after 10pm, starting from the corner of Silom Road & Rama IV, all the way to Suriwongse Road. Bring them to the short time hotel, never take them home.

Vassa Boys near the main Boyztown strip had some rougher but OK looking guys when I was there in July. I might try one on my next visit.

I seem to recall Biggles saying something about the boys in Vassa being a little more on the rough hewn, farm boy side, a long time ago, which piqued my interest.

But then there were some more recent comments that Vassa had very young twinkier types, which threw cold water on my interest.

Now Aussie_guy seems to suggest they've returned to the rougher (presumably older) guys.

Anyone else have a confirming or contradictory view of what category some/most of the guys fit into at Vassa?

Incidentally, Krazy Dragon is (unfortunately in my view) employing a broader range of types now, but they still have a number of the tougher types that someone referred to as being like tuk-tuk drivers in an apparent attempt to denigrate tuk-tuk drivers and Krazy Dragon in one swish.

I've sat in Vassa once (not more than 15 minutes) and looked in a couple of times more. For what it's worth, my impression is that Vassa has no "type". In other words, despite having fewer than 10 boys, these ten tended to be highly variable, from fresh-looking twinks to motorcy drivers seeking career change.

What I intuit is that the mamasan is trying not to confine herself to any type for the bar, hoping to satisfy as many customers a possible (but given the tiny total number, probably satisfying none).

My guess is that the tiny total makes the bar highly vulnerable to fluctuations. If it has, for example, only two small twinks in its stable, and on one night, one is off'd while the other does not show up for work, then a customer of that night might say "This bar has no twinks!".

And vice versa. If both its leathery roughnecks have to go back to the village to help with rice planting, another customer will report "This bar has only twinks and muscle marys, where are the street thugs or sinewy farm hands that I like?"

Of course, I am only speculating. It may also be that there have been periodic changes in mamasans, each of whom has her own idea of "marketable type".

Please do poke your nose into the joint and see for yourself. Hope to hear your report.

- Try taking a walk-around any of the larger construction sites - you'll see their tall cranes on the skyline.
- I u'stand. that if military types are your thing then after 22.hrs. around WAT PO might be fruitful.
- There's always SANAM LUANG - but that can be very much AYOR. and one needs to keep one's eyes fully OPEN for any groups on the look-out for farangs and others perceived to be softer targets.

Let me second scoops' request - please tell us more about your Manila experiences. I may be heading that way myself in a few months.

As for street toughs, you may well find them in the gogo bars nowadays. The boys are older than ever before, more tattooed than ever before, and some of them look positively criminal to me. Might be what you're looking for In Bangkok, try Hotmale, Fresh Beach Boys, Future Boys.

If you're looking for street toughs for massage, try Arena or His - if it's still in operation.

The area between Tn Silom & Tn Suriwong on RamaIV is known amongst my friends as 'Thug Lane'. For most of the evening but getting better later it is one of the places for the sort of guy you are looking for. Just bear in mind that these guys are free lance, not pretty ( a+ for me) and can be dangerous. In earlier times I took a few back to my hotel. Met one lovely fellow who would do all sorts of 'thug fantasy' things. Also had one minor unpleasant experience where a bottle of perfume was nicked. (everything else was locked up!). Don't bring my takeaways 'home' any more and would recommend short time room of which plenty in vicinity.

Each time I've been to Bangkok (I don't live there), I've cruised on Rama IV between Silom and Suriwong--and, first of all, there are very few hustlers, and second, I don't see anything "tough" or "rough" about them. Also, it seems like the same ones over and over. I found it pathetic. I've only picked up two guys in that area. Also, I could tell that most guys there are scammers (you won't get any money's worth). I did get a really hot Southern Thai guy there around January 1--but he didn't do much. I had to ask him to do things--eventually he kissed me and I jacked off.

I tried some of the so called "rough trade" from Rama IV on my last visit to Bangkok in July. 500 baht was the rate plus taxi fare was requested. The guy needed a very long shower before we started and did the minumum required to earn his fee. Better to spend some extra baht and off a boy from Solid Bar or similar, guys are cleaner and better looking in my opinion.

I want to try an army guy from near the Grand Palace, maybe the quality of guy and performance may be better there from the street trade. A waiter I know from Bangkok has just finished his Thai army duty and apparently he had so much sex in the barracks that he needs a rest back at work.

I fully agree with sloot, especially in regards to the Bangkok bars. Honestly, most of the guys these days do nothing for me, as this is not my 'type' at all. Some places, luckily, have a bit of a mix but I don't recall ever seeing so many bulky, tattooed, motorbike/taxi driver types working in go-go bars before.
