Hey guys. I thought I'd post a little review for those who, like me, are looking for a good "legit" massage by a male masseuse.

I've been trying to weed through the postings in the "massage venues" thread, but it is endless and really difficult to narrow down the choices.

I was looking for a quality massage with no "extras" by a male masseuse who was easy on the eyes.

I decided to try a newish looking place down the street from my hotel - Senses, it is called, and it is on Soi Phiphat 2 next to the Heritage Group Hotel (very near Chong Nonsi Skytrain Station).

They sign outside says "Boy or lady massage".

Upon entering, it feels like you have stepped into a high class escort bar or an overdone karaoke lounge. Lots of black, violet, white and shiny, kitschy objects. A host and hostess greet you and immediately have you take a seat while they give you the menu.

I selected the tradtional Thai massage for 400 baht, but the host talked me into the 2 hour combo - thai massage plus foot massage for 650.

I was thinking that the place was one of those "in denial" places that provided a foot massage front while other things went on upstairs, and even though I was looking for a true massage, the thought of a little unexpected surprise had me on edge.

I didn't get to choose my masseuse, but I told the host I wanted strong and preferred a man. I was given a shirt and pants to change into while they went and got my masseuse.

I was given a guy named "Eh" (like A). He was mildly attractive but from what I could see had a very nice body. I wasn't too disappointed.

As he began the foot massage I was very pleased. I've had some horrible foot massages in Bangkok on this trip. They seem to train folks how to poke your foot with a wooden knob and that's about all you get, but Mr. A skillfully worked on my feet, calves and thighs with a nice cream that did not leave me all greasy. He seemed to be going a bit high on my thighs and I was afraid I would have a woody when I got up to go for the 2nd part of my treatment.

When the foot massage was finished, I was led into another room where several others were getting Thai massages. The spaces were separated by curtains and you could hear the others but not see them.

Mr. A began working on my legs with me face up. He did not waste much time working his way up to my crotch where he placed both hands on the "blood block" points, although not quite there, close enough to my cock to start to get the blood flowing. Before I knew it I was rock hard (in spite of the fact that I'd had killer sex with a big-dicked Thai friend earlier in the day and really just wanted a massage).

He continued to work on me skillfully, delivering an excellent massage will still working his way up my crotch to keep me aroused.

I have to say I was kind of excited by the idea that there might be others on the other side of the curtains who were getting similar treatment, some straight men by women, and other gay men being worked on by men. Illicit sex can be so much fun and so exciting!

I am definitely going back, though I will tell Mr. A or whoever I get that I just want massage. I enjoyed the freedom to play around a bit, but I was looking for a place where I could get a quality massage, and I found it. I'd hate to see Senses degenerate into one of those places that pretends to be a legitimate massage venue but is really just about getting folks off. It was clear that Mr. A was well trained and judging from the faces of those getting foot massages beside me, so were all of the other men and women working there.

I saw several guys while I was there and they were all attractive and young.

I recommend Senses for those who are looking for a good massage, and while the possibility for some extra fun exists, I don't believe it has to be a part of the experience.

They open at 1 p.m. and I am not sure what time they close.

Yep, that's it! I guess I got some sort of special promotion. The foot massage + Thai massage was only 650, but I see they advertise a Thai massage as 600 on the website (I remember it being around 400)

I believe you would find Chang Massage to be a good option also...where a legitimate massage is their prime offering although other things do happen. Some one mentioned earlier that a masseur is picked for you. But as in most places where you seem not to have a choice...this is done just to get the rotation of staff balanced or just to help you choose. When in Chang or other such places, wait 'til you see a guy you like, move up to him, put an arm on his shoulder, look at the boss and say I would like a Thai massage, making it quite clear who is going to do it. In Chang I know the names of the boys and just ask for a particular lad. They are happy with that as Chang lads are often well hidden.
Now if you are after a straight massage place where sex is unavoidable, try Best Massage...they have some fine slim lads there now all strewn around waiting on the 3rd floor of that partly-deserted mall at Saladeang BTS...the one with KFC and Subway downstairs.

I think if you want a legitimate massage, just go to Wat Pho. They have a big massage school--women and men trainees. I think you can pick 1/2 or 1 hour and the cost is reasonable.

Wat Pho is a little bit far for me to get to and as far as I know, they don't give you a choice of man or woman. Plus, from what I recall, massages are done in the open. I was very happy with my massage at Senses yesterday and made an appointment for another today - just massage (we'll see if my willpower can hold out). I liked that Mr. A seemed to know how to work within the limits of an older Western body and did not try to stretch me beyond my capacity, but also did not try to shy away from trying. I left feeling lighter and more flexible, which is why I will try to get a massage from him every day until I leave on Monday. Also, it's just down the street from my hotel, so it could not be any more convenient for me.

Let me expand and clarify...This is not a place where sex is on the cards as a matter of management policy..places like Hero, B&N, Bonny, Bangkok Massage and the like. Their customers are mixed...ladies and gents. Their staff are almost 100% lads now although they used to have ladies also on the staff.
On all occasions except one (the guy responsible for not offering sex has now moved on), the boy has initiated sex in one form or another.
The boys seem about 1/2 and 1/2 gay/straight(largely the bottom half is gay, fortunately). They will certainly take no for an answer.
The cubicles are wood partitions with a small gap underneath and about 7' high. They have wooden sliding doors with no lock. Slippers outside means "Action in progress".
The shower is a joke...like an aircraft toilet. But I have only ever had a Thai massage. Wouldn't recommend an oil massage!

I tried the thai/oil combo for 550 baht. The Thai massage was terrific. The boy I had was obviously trained and knew what he was doing. He also brushed up against my crotch ocassionally and kept me excited throughout. Then came the oil massage. Also good, but I preferred the Thai. Sorry Sextile, I never asked his name. I was not given a choice of masseueses at Best Massage, and while the massage was very good, I still think Khun Eh was more professional. The boys at Best are quite cute and all of them were very flirtatious in a very understated (and sexy) way. I'm assuming, given the quality of the massage I got there, that any of them could provide the same service. I'd love to hear your experience there.
