Fakeness is the most likely thing you'll get. These are working boys after all, and most of them are straight.

9. Be generous.

There are always exceptions of course.

With this experience behind me I now have almost 100% success rate with models I "off".

I think Dream Boys is probably the best go-go bar currently, certainly as far as the show goes, but also many of the boys are good. The bar is always busy when I visit. X-boys is also good, probably has the best looking boys, but show is getting a bit tired and repetitive. Classic Boys has gone downhill. I will be returning to Bangkok tomorrow (Sunday) and will visit some of the other bars and will report back.

Went to X-Size last night. Completely full, got a table in the very far corner, which was actually OK since I just wanted to watch, not off anyone.
The show was TRULY a mix of just about everything. I arrived about 1030pm, so I'd missed a bit but not much I think.
All of the "shows" included nudity.
1) Candle/wax with 4 guys, all nude with those kinda-creepy engorged dicks.
2) Another candle show also with nudity.
3) And there was a quite-long fucking show, too, where the same guy was fucked by 3 of the guys from the big dick show. During the show the last pair came off the stage and the bottom guy would put his hands on peoples' laps (including mine) as he got fucked, and say, "Tip for me, tip for me!"... stopping at most Farang and most womens' tables.....wasn't really too into that, especially getting touched and grabbed by somebody who'd just gotten fucked by 3 different guys. And I'm NOT a prude--I am as dirty as they get! But I can imagine it really grossed some people out.
4) Then came the oddest show of all. The last show was a traditional, 70-80 year-old Thai woman (possibly a ladyboy but I really thought she was a woman) doing a slow, lovely candle dance complete with old, traditional hand movements, and smiles.... she got the most tips of all! She needed 2 people to help her off the stage, she was very frail.
After she left the boys came up on stage and did the usual slow dance/walk around. In general, I'd say the boys there are in great shape--most were smallish but quite toned and young, very few over age 30. Saw a few boys sitting with customers but VERY few were being offed.... too bad, seems like an OK place.
They were showing more interest in me than on a usual night in past years--I think either I look richer $$ than before, OR they aren't getting offed much. I'll guess the latter :P
Went to DJ station afterwards, about 1145pm, and had a surprisingly good time--my first time there in a few years--I'd met too many money boys there over the years--or guys who became money boys after sex.....
Thanks for having this info on here about the Boy Bars, I used it at the last minute to figure out where to go!
EDIT: A question: Why was DJ station open until 3:30AM (actually later, since that's when I left)? I thought the BKK curfew was like 1AM? When did I miss that change, a long time ago I suppose?
I didn't even realize what time it was until I was leaving. I kinda liked the old curfew since it limited how much I drank and also allowed me to wake up early the next day! But anyway I did have fun.....

probably it doesn't come as a surprise that dj station is busy as always on weekends. rather empty from monday to thursday (though thursday is a bit busier). the vast majority of guys on the first floor as prostitutes but most visiting caucasians seem not to mind. no idea whether they are aware of the job nature of the guys they cruise. amusingly, two by far best looking caucasians with perfectly muscled physique picked up a prostitute. i hope the guy didn't charge them.

the dj scene is similar to the sauna scene. most locals avoid caucasians. those who are interested in caucasians fall into two broad categories: prostitutes and professional potato queens (who go after almost any gwm available). there are a few middle class locals who like gwm and don't fall in either category. but they generally visit on weekends only and in groups.

if one isn't into paid/plastic sex and prefers fit asians, thailand might not be the best destination. if one removed prostitutes, the gay scene in bkk would have looked like gay scene in other asian cities, such as hk, sg or tpe.

I would have to completely disagree with this. There are many other places other than DJ/Babylon/Saunas to pick up sexy, fit Thai men. I have no trouble whatsoever - but admittedly I am young and handsome with a hot body. That probably helps!

How does a farang meet a potato queen or other non-prostitute in DJ Station -- or in in fact any Asian in there? I sometimes go in there, and it sure seems almost impossible to meet anyone. It's just a bunch of spaced-out Thai who stand there and are captivated by the noise and stupid entertainment. I'm not going to stand around for hours and hours and force myself to "enjoy" the noise. It might just be that I don't have the right bar personality. But it sure seems like the place is packed with a mass of people who almost all are wasting a LOT of time.
