Solid

I went back to Solid for the first time in 3 weeks and was sorry I had waited so long. They have a number of new boys and the best of the previous ones are still there.

!4 boys ranging from slightly fem to masculine. Most on the smaller side which makes them look younger. Boy I took looked maybe 19 to my old eyes and he was 25.

This Bar deserves support. Their drinks are 1/2 the price of Soi Twilight Bars and they have a good selection of boys. Offs are 300 baht. Also I have never been disappointed by the performance .

Go early 8pm and you will have first choice and if you don't find anyone to your taste then the Soi Twilight Bars will just be getting ready to open.

To be correct "puu-chai naa-rak" "cute guy" contest. When I got there it was towards the end and they were in street clothes so I missed the good part. As well as ripping you off for 300bt a drink, they have these plastic medals on ribbons . They go round the crowd asking for 100 bt each for you to "vote" for your favourite guy by buying a medal to give to him. Just a money making ploy.

-- It's quite some time since I've attended one of those contests in Soi Twilight - off Suriwong rd..
- Then one used to buy roses to give to the boi of one's choice. The contestants would then return the roses to the organisers who would re-cycle the roses for a further 100.Bh. each throughout each stage of the contest, and so on until the end of the contest, by wch. time each rose had ret'd. an handsome profit to the organisers - brilliant!

The temples do the same thing. You pay 20B for a lotus and put it in pot of water next to the Buddha image and then when it's full they all get recycled and sold again. No one thinks anything of that.

Those yellow buckets with food and stuff that you buy and give to monks as an offering are all carefully wrapped in clear wrap to keep them clean for recycle selling. I always wonder why not just give a cash donation?

Then there's Loy Khrtong when you put coins in the boat as an offering to wash away your sins and boys swim around them taking out the coins that were your offering. Do the boys then end up absorbing your sins?

Religions baffle me.

Solid a go-go bar ...

-- Y'day., (30 aug. - Hari Raya fest'l.), an elderly & Am. Acquaintance, (he divides his time between PATTAYA & BKK.), and a couple of his farang friends visited 'SOLID.' A GO-GO BAR - Soi Naras Thiwat 1., (aka. Soi Anuman.),;
- ETA.: around 21.oo.hrs.;
- Drinks at 120.Bh.;
- At that time only three young men seen downstairs; so the farangs didn't stay therein much longer;

-- The couple walked-around the corner into the small sub-soi and looked-in at the massage-parlor that's roughly beneath 'SUPER A.' A GO-GO BAR, none of the YM. therein appealed to either of them.

-- E&OE. as reported speech. --

Who is that really unattractive white guy who sits inside that massage place? He has to be the owner, he was there every time I walked past. Doesn't he understand what a turn off he is?? He was the sole reason I didn't go inside.

I have been a customer of Solid for several years but I think over the last 2 years or so it is "going down". I visited Solid twice last April and there were never more than 5 boys present alas the boy I offed twice. ....forgot his name but he was the only one who did not wear white briefs but blue ones....was a very nice experience. It is really a pity because the mamasan is as friendly as ever and the drinks are reasonably priced. I had a look at the massage place beneath Super A, too but the boys were of veeeery questionable age then, so I did not use their service. I saw than the "midget" there who used to run Twinks (now Nightboys). He was very friendly when I had a look at Twinks but there were some massage boys who were hardly 15...a place to avoid

Visit of 25 nov. ...

-- Y'day., 25 nov., evening my Elderly & Am. Friend,(he divides his time beteen PATTAYA & BKK.), and a Mature & English Friend of both of us visited SOLID BAR - Soi Naras Thiwat 1., (aka. Soi Anuman,),;
- ETA. not stated, but possibly not too late;
- Price of drinks: I forget to enquire:
- Only six YM. on parade, a couple of whom are olde-timers of some five or so yrs.;
- The Englishman offed one of the YM. and they ret'd. to the former's hotel, (SURIWONGSE - S'wng. rd.), - reportedly an agreeable time was passed by both of them:

It was closed for a few days after the previous staff takeover team finally decided they could not continue, when it re-opened with few decor changes but new management and dancers what little remaining life and character there had been in the bar recently seems to have all but disappeared - 150 baht for a weak drink slopped dis-interestedly down on your table so you can try to catch the attention of a handfull of of fairly uninteresting guys more focused on their mobile phones and chatting to each other than the only customer in the bar did not really turn me on for some reason! personal opinion - your milage may vary! upstairs at SuperA was more lively and more falung fantasy friendly (mobile phones are at least used much more discreetly!) but again YMMV

reportedly some of the ex Solid management and dancers are now involved in an open-fronted bar beer in Soi Twilight

The old Solid crew are at the open bar next to Ocean Boys on Soi Twilight.

I was in the new Solid tonight with a friend and it was not all that bad. We had a good time but there were only 4 boys but they gave us a lot of attention and the service was fine. We were told there will be more boys soon. I expected more of a make over than there was, just a few minor changes. Give them some time before condemning the place.

but its the end boys/friends. The rent went up so high-and the neighbors on what is now isan Ba ta or so decied they could cough it up-that they quit. Either as of today or pretty soon., Indeed a fair quota of their boys had escaped to that Scorpions bar.
was about the only bar left without excessive drink prices and friendly sfere.
Super A-yes indeed, the boys get fined if they use their mobuy there. If too often the thing gets confiscated or has to be put in a locker before work starts till after finish.
