I went to a short-stay hotel (not Palace Hotel) near Kosan Rd and there was some quick discussion in Thai with the hotel and my Thai friend about something extra. I found out that I was being charged 20 baht extra for a condom and a little square plastic pack of lube (which I already had and did not need). The Thai guy I was with asked me something about 20 baht, and I said yes--and that was it.
