Post First Time Thailand

Hey guys I'm trying to plan a trip to Thailand and was wondering how much time is the right amount of time for each area. I have up to three weeks plus 4 days. Do I need three weeks, or is two enough and. I am mostly thinking about Bangkok and Pattaya. Thanks in advance...

Why not play it by ear?

I'm not wealthy enough hop on and off planes on a whim, not to mention I only get three weeks vacation a year. Americans live to work the rest of the world works to live. At least that's what they say, been true for me these last 30years.

What I meant was, there's no need to over-plan your trip.

Come over to Bangkok, pop over to Pattaya, when you get sick of it pop back to Bangkok or somewhere else.

Transportation and hotels are so easy here -- no need to plan far ahead.

And cheap.

I agree with icon, book a hotel in Bkk in advance for say 4 days, then make a further decision.

Bus trip to Pattaya is about 2 to 2.5 hours, a big range of buses, as low as just 5 or 6 US dollars. minivan services even cheaper but safety can be a concern. Depends on whether you want door to door service etc. Many of these services depart Bkk / depart Pattaya at least a couple of times every hour.

Hotels in Pattaya in low season (high season is just finishing) can be booked a day in advance, and again 5 star down to whatever. Very liveable hotels, safe, clean for US$25 or thereabouts, even less.

Why not give a few details of the level (stars) of hotel your happy with, and whether you want full gay hotel or whatever. There are many members here who live long-term in Thailand or visit regularly who can then give you lots of specific ideas / information.

I do hope your familiar with what 'gay bar' means in Thailand - the commercial sex scene, but maybe that not what your looking for. And of course that's your business.

Again, give a few more details, you'll probably get more advice than you can cope with!

Have a nice holiday.

In either Bangkok or Pattaya, what is the best way to engage a go-go boy, massage boy, or other boys as dinner companions / escorts? Usually they are not at the bars during dinner time.

If you keep a go-go boy overnight, what time the next day do they usually leave?

a. Straight after they've ben paid
b. When they're hungry (and have been paid)
c. Up to 3 days later (if you keep paying, and feeding them.)

Welcome to gay heaven.

If there is a gay heaven on earth then it is surely Thailand. You will love it. In my early trips to Thailand, I stayed at Babylon in Bangkok which served me well for introductions. Also in Bangkok: Telephone Bar, DJ Station and the 'Soi Twilight' go-go bars are a must at least once. Checkout the various posts in this forum for hints on what is happening and where. Two or three days in Pattaya will be worthwhile, and if you can afford it go to Chiang Mai for a cultural infusion. For beaches, Koh Samui maybe, but not the hoi polloi tourist sleaze pit of Phuket. But the best recommendation I can make is to be very polite and smile a lot. You will be surprised at the many connections you can make with the locals simply by being friendly.

You need to set it up the evening before.

Or, take a young man off, take him back to your hotel, if you like him and want to take him again, tell him to come back to your hotel at 6.00pm the next evening, or whatever time.

But keep in mind different 'venues' have different rules. It is possible that he will could come to your hotel at 6.00 (5.00, 4.00, whatever) but he will need to personally 'report in' to the venue he works at, perhaps at 8.00 or 8.30, and also possible he will need to pay the 'off' fee right there and then, then he can come back to your hotel. If you want him to stay several days/nights you could pay the off fee for several days in one payment then he doesn't have to 'report in' every evening.

Your question - what time do they usually leave the next day?

There's many possibilities: he may simply not be prepared to stay all night - which is his prerogative, he may be married and needs to go home to his wife and children, or get home so his wife can go to a day job, etc, he may have a day job and has to start work at 6am, 7am, 8am, whatever.

Or find someone (either commercial or not) on Gay Romeo to squire you. That way, there wouldbe no bar fines or hours to keep. Jusr select carefully and meet at least once or twice before committing to something more lengthy. There are loads of lovely, educated guys on Romeo.
