I know what a buttplug is but how exactly is it used? I've never been one for "toys" so I really don't know.

Is it used like a dildo? or to loosen a guy up before fucking? or do you stick it in your ass, leave it in, and go about mundane daily chores?

I'm not interested in buying one but I see them all the time in ABS's and I thought I'd ask.
