I have just received an E-mail from a never posted b4 memeber called " asianXXXxXlover " asking the similar question this week .
( I don't understand WHY he asked me by PM ) He said , **** Hi Ninja, . . . after i read alot about your information i will like to go 39 sauna and cinema theater.. Please send me the addresse in thai and english wil be very helpful. ***** I attached the URL of 39 UNDERGROUND SAUNA in my PM to this unkwon memeber promptly ( I am afraid he cannot read it either ) , but I HAVE NEVER heard from him since . The way how to get there was mentioned so maaaaaaaaaany times here by our moderater , ICON , other POSTERS and me ( I recently mentioned on LOSTNOOMTHAI's thread ( about 5 days ago ? ) If you cannot find it , the second best thing probably you search a perticular poster's all posts from " Profile " . This URL of 39's location map will help you ( all in Thai though ) 39 Underground map

Since you can't search the forum for a short word such as "39," I'll try to be more helpful--though I've never been to 39.
Here are the directions given by dreadedned.com: 39 Underground Sauna Phaholyothin Rd Phone: (0) 2279 - 1511 Local style sauna, fairly basic decor but very popular with locals - few western visitors. Even more popular on Tuesdays (naked night)and Fridays (lap-lap night) but check special night dates before visiting! Has steam and small sauna, small gym area, small service area with free juices and toast, the main focus is on the three cruising floors. Located in small sub-soi between Saphan Kway BTS and Pradiphat Rd - there is a Guardian Pharmacy on the corner. Admission 139 Baht, 99 baht for under 28's. Here are the directions given by utopia-asia.com: 39 Underground Phahonyothin Soi 39 (between the Saphan Kwai Sky Train Station and Pradiphat Rd), 02-279-1511. From the Saphan Kwai Sky Train Station, take Exit 1 and walk towards Pradiphat Rd, then take the 2nd lane on the right after AMB bank (less then 3 minutes). You will see the big sign for 39 Underground at the end of this small short lane. G/F has lockers, steam, sauna; 2/F has TV and a tiny gym area; 3/F dark rooms, 4/F roof top cruising area (most are not shy there). Cheap admission and popular with the local Thai crowd.

39 UNDERGROUND SAUNA is the easiest to find , and easiest to access by public transport ( BTS ) among any gay saunas in BKK !
In another word , if you cannot find this place by yourself , I am afraid you cannot find any other saunas in BKK. They are lot more difficult to find and / or hard to access . You might need a tour guide to get around . I really don't understand WHY it took almost one hour to find this place to Noom Thai ( he says he's Thai ) Which MOO BAAN of Chaing Mai are you come from ??? Not like your own country's gay saunas , they are not situated in trendy up market shopping mall . I am sure some guys will ask the same question in the VERY near future again . NAA BUA JING JING

WITHOUT YOU WE ARE NOTHING!
dear NINJA, Don't get too upset at us morons. Street names (esp SOIs) in BKK aren't always visible . Locals seem to be able to get around by relying on popular landmarks, But for some of us who do not live in BKK full time; we need alot of help... Those saunas that want nonlocals to use their facilities need to have clear directions on their websites in both Thai and English( and hill tribe dialects would be nice for me) If i had to go back to 39 underground again it would take me few extra minutes to find soi 39 .........NINJA, that's why we need you in here to guard and to guide us to those rice fields.

OK, dead simple directions:
1. Get off at Saphan Kwai sky train and go to Exit 1 2. Take the Exit 1 stairs, and when on the street level, turn around and continue walking (i.e., going in the opposite directions of the stairs) 3. Look for the TMB bank on the right side -- it's about 2 minutes from the stairs 4. Look for the second small soi after the TMB and turn right into the soi. The soi dead-ends within 100 meters. You'll be facing the sign 39 Underground. 5. If you don't see the 39 Underground sign within 10 seconds of walking down the small soi, go back to the main road and try the soi just before or after the one you just went down.

It may be a blessing that these lesser known venues are hard to find if they are not to be invaded and have their character changed by too many tourists.(i confess to being one but i usually have a Thai friend to hold my hand and hope I don't come across as overpowering).
Another obstacle for the tourist is getting a cab back, especially on a rainy night

And we non-Thai cruisiers should think we are lucky , because all BKK saunas's signs are written down in ALPHABETS . If you go to Taiwan , China , South Korea or Japan , I think many of local saunas don't have signs in Alphabets ( but also street signs ) If you search under the key word " UNDERGROUND " , you can see about 30 threads , and about 25 of them are from Thai board . And if you call 39 from BTS Saphan Kwaai station , you can ask them to send a staff to pick you up . The owners ( 3 of them ) speak reasonable English , I hope ( though I have never talk to them in English ) Their telephone numbers are 02-279-1511 and 02-618-3539 .

Last month i visited 39 Underground and it was realy easy to find this place. You can see the big signe 39 underground from the beginning of the soi. Of course, you have to take a look in a map first. I visited some other saunas in bkk which was more difficult to find. But with a map from bts and mrt and a map from greather bkk it is possible to find many places. Look some minutes in this maps before you start your trip and write the important points in a paper to find one's way.

It would be interesting to know your thoughts about these places "Asia lover".Do you have consistent success there or is it so-so ? I have only been to Underground and Farose and enjoyed both especially 39.
Would remind all who are getting out their maps that these venues are mainly for Asians who like Asians or if you are a special looking farang. It can be hard going otherwise.(i aint special looking).

Hi brief encounter,
yes, the most costumer in these venues are Asians who like Asians, but not all. I like to see Asians different from there of Babylon. And when only a few of the Asians are interesting on a farang, it is ok for me. I am not a special looking farang, maybe a little special of my tall size 194 cm. Farose i never visit, 39 i enjoying. Ban Thai: easy to find from BTS Victory Monument station, good cabin-areas, sometimes long waiting for find a sex-partner, but at least enjoying. Beach: from BTS Prakanog take a motorbike-taxi, the most drivers known the place, most young thais, sometimes hot action in the darkroom, every visit i am enjoy. Chakran: easy to find from BTS Ari, not so enjoy for me, but many beautiful asians. Cruising: some years ago i visit this place, not so easy to find, on my visit no asians who interesting on me. GSM: go by expressboat to ratchawongse, from there a little walking, very mixed crowd, many orgies and exibitions, every time enjoing. Heaven: a little bit difficult to find the building, more Asians who like Asians, best chance in the steamroom. Mania: walking distance from BTS Chong Nonsi, sexy thais on sumo-night, enjoying. The Door: best take a klongboat to the Mall Bankapi, from there walking (but about 20 Minutes) or taxi, mixed asians, naked nights, enjoying. The pool on the Mall is also a good place for looking nice guys. At least Babylon Sauna: sex is guaranteed, everything ok. How is Male Box Sauna and The Orion? This places i never visited. Any other saunas worht a visit?
