Bangkok Theatres, how can update me?

Hi - I haven't been in BKK for years and browsed all the posts here from the last months. What is the actual situation about the fun theatres? I read about one next to Underground Sauna, but without a name or direction. Are there any other active places still? Any recomendations? It sounded like this theatres a drowning out... Thank you very much for any advice. Jan

Most of them closed down. All the nice old cinema's near Prakanong, for example.

There is still one left next to the BTS station Saphan Kway and two in Chinatown.

For the ones in Chinatown, ask Cupidman.

The one in Saphan Kwai: take the BTS. Exit on the right hand side, towards Victory. About 20 meters on your right hand you see a small soi, with some movie posters. Walk down the soi. You walk right into the cinema.

The Underground Sauan is on your left hand, when you exit the cinema.

Does anyone have a guess as to Cinema openings and closings over Western New Year period, around December 28-January 6?
I will be in BKK during some of that time, and the last few years some of the Cinemas (like the one by 39 Sauna) have special "family" events, so they are closed.
Anyone have knowledge of Thai school holidays over this time of year?

Thai schools have a mid term break at that time. Cinema's are open as usual. Perhaps not on 1 Jan, but only on that day.

Cinemas never close, but the above poster is right: sometimes the suck cinemas have special family programs during the holidays. I don't think they can be predicted.

Does anyone know what the Thai school holiday schedule is over Western New Year? I'd guess it's only a day or two off, since Songkran is in April... I doubt they'd be doing a "Family Day" at the suck cinemas on a school day, so if anyone knows the Thai school Holiday schedule, that'd be great! Thanks.

Midterm exams begin on Christmas day and end on 28 Dec. at my institution. Classes begin again on 3 january.

Unfortunately, I am in BKK from 1-5 January, so it'll likely be quiet.

Luckily, if I go to Saphan Kwai, and the Cinema is closed, I can just pop into 39 Sauna!

Also, last January when it was closed, I ended up blowing 4 guys at the cinema across Phaholyothin Road, a mainstream cinema showing horror movies! Most action was in the stalls, but it was very cruisy....

Sorry the update is a bit late.... but anyway, I had a great time on 2nd January. If last year was any indication, January 1st the cinema is closed... so January 2nd, it was absolutely FULL of guys--probably 200 or so at a time.
Actually, not my favorite thing to be so busy, since there is more competition, and more prying eyes and guys trying to join even when unwanted.

I meant the large one by Saphan Kwai, I think it's called the Phaholyothin? It's just next to 39 Sauna.

My update is even later, sorry guys, I was in Bkk in mid-December and this cinema is just what I like (I had been there before in Dec 05 and March 06)

I went there on every one of the 4 days of my visit, 2 times were good for me and the other 2 were fabulous, bordering on outrageous! I like sucking and there were plenty of guys I liked who appreciated my attention

I didn't quite have the time middwestbttmboy32 describes, but it wasn't far off! Really quite a variety, again, that's just what I like...

Incidentally, I had a problem with my 'phone and was recommended to go to the Big C opposite the cinema by a dept store in the Silom Centre. How convenient, as I was going that way already?!
