The Laem Tong in Klong Toey is gone. I went there this afternoon and they are in the process of demolishing the place.
I had some good times there over the years, but it's been pretty dead for some time now. |
Very sad. Just a small number of them left, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

As of February 2018 this place was till in business. Seedy - yes, filthy - yes, perverts - yes....just my sort of place!

Sorry, I'm referring to the cinema right near the BTS station at Saphan Khwai. It's (according to Google Maps) "The Phahon Theater".
I may be tempted to visit this coming weekend if anyone else wants to come along. Dave. |

I passed by The State last weekend; definitely closed and marquee removed. |
Many over the last 10 years have gone. I'm sure this place will vanish too soon.
I'm not that keen on shopping malls, their toilets included, so choices are becoming severely limited. But I may be tempted to go and have a look tomorrow (Saturday) just for the heck of it. Dave. |
Cinemas that still rocking?
I havent been i Bkk for 1year and i know 4 cinemas in Bkk, are they still there? Cinemas in Bangkok i know 1.Phahon Yothin Rama Cinema (BTS Saphan Khwai) 2.Hawaii Cinema (BTS Wongwian Yai) 3.Chinatown Rama (Yaowarat Road, Metro Hua Lamphong) 4.Bangkae Rama(Phet Kasem Rd, BTS Bang Wa, then MB-taxi 2-3km) |
I was last at the Phahon 5 weeks ago and it was moderately busy. I have not been to the Hawaii or the Chinatown Rama in a number of years and I've never been to the Bangkae Rama.

How is onnut area lately?
|
There used to be cinemas at Prakanong, but they’re all gone now. I don’t recall there being any at Onnuch.
|
Any recent visits to the Saphan Kwai cinema, if it's still in business? It's been at least 6 years since I was there! Any others exist? Thanks.
