re the dancing there-my well-informed contacts said, only those who are willing and they get extra pay for it. No relation with age. But they hardly employ any <18s-really. Just ask for that ''nam baht prachachuen''=white Thai ID-card.
It also seems some of the staff are exchanged with Nature Boys-to ''help out'' in slack times or whatever.

-- Another sleeze-bar that's fallen-OFF our RADAR.-screens is SUPER A.;
- Y'day., (28th.), evening I visited, ETA. around 23.oo.hrs.;
- OMG.! What's happened there? Unless my amnesic memory is deceiving me SUPER A. used to be the sleeze, (and anyother similar epithet that one chose to throw at it!), bar of BKK.. Someone or other has been around with a paint-brush so that a lt.stone color has prevailed over the former grottiness; even the furniture looks & feels to be in better condition;
- The boyz, too, look to be LESS scruffy - no more dirty tee-shirts over unwashed jeans, but rather white tee-shirts or vests over briefs or shorts;
- Drinks at just 100.Bh.;
- From time-to-time a pair or a gp. of boyz would appear on the stage and wiggle & wriggle-around - possibly, judging by the way they prefered to admire themselves in the backing looking-glass, MORE for their own pleasure? Still, if one likes admiring Thai-boyz' bottoms, (and who doesn't?), ... .
- A couple of other & mature farangs there e'taining. & being e'tained. by some of the boyz; the farangs left, unaccompanied, after maybe another 20-30mins.. Not long afterwards two more mature farangs came-in;
- Soon after sitting-down I was joined by Khun Bob; late teens or early 20s., (forget wch.), worked there but four days, thus shy. However, after playing & being played with for a while he slipped-down his briefs: quite a small & uncut endowment wch., after some persuassion, he allowed me to smoke - 'But just a little.' was his admonishment;
- I did not see any obviously under-age boyz there;
- Bkgd. music, if there was any, wasn't intrusive;
- I was not bothered by any cigarette-smoke, nor did my clothes reek of nicotine as they would have done previously: :-)
- I left alone just after midnight; although - were I a single man - I might well have invited Khun Bob. to share my further thoughts and my bed.

Super A seems stuck with the image of having "underage" boys working there even though that hasn't been the case in many, many years. Scruffy it may be, but it still has a very laid back vibe, cheap drinks (still only 100 baht ... after all these years), and usually some friendly guys. For a place to hang out, I think it's one of the more comfortable go-go bars in Bangkok.
Some of the crew, however, can be overly pushy and/or girly. But amidst the plug-uglies and the ladyboys are also some good looking guys. Granted, there are nights you have to search hard for the good ones, but they are still out there. I met a really nice one there about 3 months ago and he's since become a weekly visitor to my apartment.

Agreed... It's one of the few "old school" bars that flourished in BKK 20 years ago - I describe as "laid back sleeze" unlike the attempt at glitz (at 300bt a drink) of Soi Twilight.

-- Y'day., (07th.), evening , having walked-along Soi Naras Thiwat 1.,(aka. Soi Anuman.), and, resisting the calls of other bars' touts, I went to SUPER A.;
- ETA.: around 23.oo.hrs.;
- Drinks: 100.Bh.;
- Possibly half-a-dozen farangs there; I though that the place had a buzz about it;
- No sooner had I sat-down then I was joined by a pale-skinned YM.: Khun Kae, 22YO. from CNX., not a piece of eye-candy, who speaks enough English so that one can talk with him without too much effort. He didn't waste much time before he pulled-down his briefs to shew me what lay therein: small/avg. Thai boi isue & uncut;
- After a while of the usual chitter-chat asked if I could smoke him; but he pointed-out the boss, who, he said, does not like such things o'side. of the upstairs room or of being offed, (of course!),;
- A few katoeys, some of whom tried to make themselves known to me and were disouraged politely;
- From time-to-time one or two boyz went on-stage, but one could not write that their actions thereon were dancing; in fact quite lifeless & unappealing.
- I ret'd. home alone at around 23.30.hrs..
- I saw & smelled one man smoking a ciggie.:

That's par for the course at Super A. Although, there ARE times when I actually see movements resembling real dancing on their stage, unlike at most other bars in the area where it's nothing more than a slow rotation of revolving statues.
