69 Spa
Sorry, don't know, Bago, but can you or anyone work out why this beaut little place never caught on? Great area; fine facilities; good management; best line-up originally of sexy, twinky masseurs (Toon's smile made me weak at the knees); reasonable prices until recently. Could it just be down to the power of farang superstition about its soi number 13 and its original name of 66 Spa, I wonder?

I was walking around in the rain last night around 8:30 and decided I'd rather be oiled up than drenched so ducked into Senso on Sala Daeng. Really nice space, very modern and dare I say it, elegant. About 15 men on display, the choice was extremely difficult as I would have happily gone with any of them. I've not been to all the joints in BKK by any means, but this IS the first time 100% have been very, very handsome. That said, if your type is small, slim, very boyish, this is probably not the place for you. Most of the guys were quite well muscled, not the Tawan steroid type, but the workin' hard at California Fitness types.
Ended up choosing khun Chai, Issan guy, 21, very serious-butch look, maybe 5'7" and perfectly sculpted body. And speaks very little English, perfect for me, I like 'em beautiful and quiet. Chose the 90 minute relax massage (850 baht/minimum tip 1200)
Chai took me up to the room, again, very nice and modern, with a great mirror that allowed full on viewing of what was going on.
The massage was, really pretty good, a nice mix of the sensuous and the practical. He actually worked some knots out of muscles in my calves that most regular masseurs have not done as well.
Without going into ALL the details here I'll mention that one of the reasons I chose K. Chai was the fact he appeared to be 100% straight. During the massage, he was particularly attentive with his fingers to areas that led me to believe I would be on the receiving end of spicy Issan sausage.
Imagine my pleasant surprise, when at the end of the work part of the massage, this lovely man knelt down and kissed me full on the lips and with tongue. Then he proceeded to smoke the hell out of me. After a few minutes of this he looked me in the eye and asked if it was ok? I allowed that it REALLY was.
Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore and I smoked him to a full happy ending, and then he went back and returned the favor.
Didn't mention before, but prior to the massage, as well as after, Chai was in the shower with me making sure that every square inch of me was squeaky clean.
So on the one hand...the cost is higher than most. However, the look of the place is nicer than most, the massage was better than most, the guys were by far a cut above the rest (that I've seen) and the sex was surprising and excellent. And frankly, I'm going to do everything in my power NOT to go back tonight, don't want to appear like a total slut.

I've never been able to fathom why Bangkok massage places generally are so stingy with mirrors. I mean how else can you look at the cuteness that you are paying for, while being massaged?

By far the biggest massage room mirror that I have seen is at BODY LINE, a new place currently advertised in the free mags.

BODY LINE opened a few months ago in a residential area midway between Viphawadi and Ratchadapisek roads, perhaps inauspiciously in the very same quiet soy (though not the same house) where the absurdly named River Spa (the river being over 7 km away!) opened and closed in recent years.

Potentially a little peach of a place, BODY LINE is spoiled for me by the effem. mamasan's evident weakness for rough-trade masseurs, regardless of competence.

The first masseur I tried of the 3 or 4 on duty had a smile to die for but turned out to be a fitness fanatic who apparently saw the job as an opportunity to work out and be paid for it. Though exhaustingly energetic, he hadn't a clue about massage or apres massage.

On my second visit, the masseur I chose was equally hopeless, but he may have known something that I didn't, because he refused to permit any sex, except uncomfortably in the bathroom!

Nice house though! Beautifully converted to their new role, the reception rooms still have a homely feel. The few new massage rooms I saw at the back each have a bathroom or a big shower. They also have a couple of features that I have long dreamed of but never before found in a massage place:

1. At least 1 room has a mirror wall facing the massage table (Dear Lord, let it not have been 2-way!), and

2. TVs in the rooms, with gay porn CDs - defective, naturally, just like the ones I used to buy and now no longer do for that reason. Their main benefit proved to be getting the boys quickly turned on, though that tends to be your massage over and done with!

If I ever return to BODY LINE, I'll hope to find some trained staff. But for all I know, it could appeal right now to those into rough trade masseurs.

Buses stop at the soi mouth (Nos 52, 54, 74, 117 and 204, several of which can be caught in a Northerly direction under BTS Ari station, but will be awfully slow at busy times). The quickest route could be the MRT to Sutthisan, take station exit 4 (unless superstitious!) and a 2km moto'cy ride.
I paid 790 baht (plus tip) for an hour's oil.

The simple fact about the Chinese and numbers is that the more westernised Chinese profess not to actually believe in such things...hahaha...while the more traditional ones do.
