As substitute, I shocked the mamasan by ignoring his 3 p.m. lineup of perhaps 8 assorted boys and requesting instead the tall, friendly, 22 year old cashier, Tom, who speaks some English. Visited Body Club on Soi 11 Sukhumvit yesterday.

I arrived early and maybe 10 boys there. Lucky I arrived early because otherwise I might have selected one of the younger , smaller boys that were there as I left

Instead I took a more Masculine Boy and it proved to my good luck.

Am I wrong, or is there a higher proportion than usual of great massage boys around recently? I've been thinking that the shortage of customers could have something to do with it. Certainly, it should make them keener and fresher . . . There again, school's out for the summer hols, so there ought to be some eager young talent around.

By the way, I've found that Body Club boys' days off rotate (or used to) and can't be relied on. Better book to avoid disappointment. They generally understand well enough on the phone, unless it's something unusual, but better speak to the boy himself to make sure.

two reports from BKK

1) Sukhothai
Large number of boys milling around, not offered a choice and did not ask for a specific type. Assigned Khun Keng, about 24 or 25, short and slighly stocky.

Generally good massage, although he set his stall out early - first touches delving down under, and coming back there with virtually every stroke. All the time he was wearing a little dhoti like piece of cloth, but after agreeing a b2b massage, he removed that and started to really earn his tip.

He was very tactile and, although I would probably not have chosen him if given the choice at the start, I was very happy - especially when he shot was seemed like buckets all over me...

2) Bangkok Massage (is that the name? In Soi Twilight, just up from Bonny)
Again, was not given a choice, but did not like the guy proffered to I turned him down and chose a lad sitting by the door, tall and thin, verging on skinny but looked very cute with his short, mini mohican. He told me that his name was At, and that he was 22. He spoke reasonably good English.

I chose a 90minute massage for 700 baht. At helped me shower, although he remained towelled during it.

Like the Sukhothai massage, he also made it clear from the start that extras were on offer, however his fingers did not have the refinements or delicate touches of Keng's. He was a poor to average masseur, but the thing that really pissed me off was that within 15 mintues he told me to turn over. I said that I had paid for 90 minutes and he said that he knew, and that all would be ok. Anyway, to cut a long story etc, he offered special massage for 1000 baht. We negotiated to 800, then he went to work- still within the half hour. I managed to slow him down but, as I found out later, he was really just wanting to get out to meet friends now that he was going to have some cash.

All said and done, he was very good looking (best I can recall for some time) and seemed to like being smoked and licked, but I was not happy that after about 45 minutes he told me that time was up. No-one in reception was interested. Pity - I would have gone back again if they treated me less shoddy.
