You might consider reading the thread on Bar Reports rather than expecting people to repeatedly answer questions on the same topic.

To be fair, some threads go "off topic" pretty quickly - look at the one on "Pattaya your disco needs you" as an example. Personally I find that once a thread is on its fourth or fifth page it could do with a mercy killing. Even though I don't plan to be in Bangkok any time soon a topical thread such as this one is of more interest than ploughing to the end of "Suck cinema updates" to find out whether the "cute" 40yo has returned to duty.

-- Agreed, it does pay to do one's 'Home-work.' - as it were - beforehand.
- However, should one not find what one is seeking, or if the info. is stale, then it might be tactful to begin one's query by writing -

'Having looked-at ... topic I'm wondering if someone else has any MORE recent info. on ... ?', or words to that effect.

Yes, I wouldn't plough through all 47 pages of some of the longer threads, but if you go to the last two or three pages, they are generally fairly current.

I do agree that it would be kind to put some of the longer threads out of their misery. Possibly in future anyone posting something new on bars or massage venues could start a new thread for that month ... e.g. Bar Reports June 2009.

Of course I also realize that attempting to bring systemic order to a board such as this is like trying to herd cats . Some activities are contrary to the innate nature of the participants ... and of course that's why cats look down on dogs and we look down on lesser people.

It was never on track, at least not the track hoped for by the original poster who asked a question which obviously wasn't going to be answered here.

I pointed out to him where the information could be found and others suggested tactics for obtaining useful information, all of which were intended to help the OP find what he wanted now and in future.

Yours seems to be the only totally irrelevant message.

-- Are 'to herd.' the correct words applicable to cats? Cattle, maybe.
- The two collective nouns for domestic cats are 'Dout.' and 'Nuisance.'*; although trying to make a verb out of either might be difficult. ;-)

Perhaps if you had used Google to look up the phrase "trying to herd cats" you would have found that one of the references is to Senator Trent Lott's autobiography "Herding Cats: a life in politics". It is a widely-used expression, denoting something that is extremely difficult if not impossible.

Any nude shows? is the title of the thread.

The last few posts are about cats and ultimately about an Yank politican and his autobiography.

Amazing how communicatins gets side tracked.

- But I can't write that I've ever heard of that phrase before now; but I shall check-around with some of my American acquaintances to see how wide-spread its use may be.

Quite widespread, I'd say.

Looks as if trying to keep a thread from wandering is what's like trying to herd cats.

May be better just to relax and enjoy the serendipity.

I think there is one moderator here to guide and I prefer not to be advised how I use the board. It is my preference and please do not nanny me.With respect of course.

The massage link goes on and on about places that don't interest me.Mostly they are in the health spa league. We are in the era of crisp, fast and pointed information and wading through the dead sea scrolls is so....

At the moment there is a downturn and crackdown on so I sought fresh information.
