To be fair, some threads go "off topic" pretty quickly - look at the one on "Pattaya your disco needs you" as an example. Personally I find that once a thread is on its fourth or fifth page it could do with a mercy killing. Even though I don't plan to be in Bangkok any time soon a topical thread such as this one is of more interest than ploughing to the end of "Suck cinema updates" to find out whether the "cute" 40yo has returned to duty.

I do agree that it would be kind to put some of the longer threads out of their misery. Possibly in future anyone posting something new on bars or massage venues could start a new thread for that month ... e.g. Bar Reports June 2009. Of course I also realize that attempting to bring systemic order to a board such as this is like trying to herd cats . Some activities are contrary to the innate nature of the participants ... and of course that's why cats look down on dogs and we look down on lesser people.

-- Are 'to herd.' the correct words applicable to cats? Cattle, maybe. - The two collective nouns for domestic cats are 'Dout.' and 'Nuisance.'*; although trying to make a verb out of either might be difficult. ;-) - * source: search-engine Google. -- Bibi. --

Perhaps if you had used Google to look up the phrase "trying to herd cats" you would have found that one of the references is to Senator Trent Lott's autobiography "Herding Cats: a life in politics". It is a widely-used expression, denoting something that is extremely difficult if not impossible.

"herd" used as a verb, is not specific to any animal species and can be applied, informally, to people as well. A shepherd herds sheep. [Assuming you've ever read the Bible, the Shepherd appearing in the New Testament is not all that involved with actual sheep]. A goatherd herds goats. A tour guide may herd her flock of tourist. Considering your somewhat bizarre & incomprehensible use of abbreviations to cloak, though not completely, your inability to spell properly, it is odd that you would choose to correct (inappropriately) someone else's English. If you like, I can make note of your nonstandard usage and spelling errors. It would be a full-time occupation, but if you found it useful and instructive ... Quote:

-- After delightful excursions in other pastures it's time for us to 'Retournons a nos moutons.', as is said in G*y Paree! -- Y'day., (20th.), evening, and in the line of duty to verify certain rumors about BKK's. Finest's activities, I visited both HOTMALE and SCREWBOYS; besides allowing ciggies. both of them featured full frontal nudity and bold/exciting shows! The activities of the 2 participants from the suspended rings in the former drew a round of applause from the 70 or so spectators! -- Bibi. --
