- Alternatively go to THE MALL - Bang Kapi; exit from the front; turn LEFT and walk for approx. 01.M. to the start of soi 113..

IBIS is a good basic hotel with attentive staff but now it is overrun by tour group buses,sometimes 5,,sometimes arriving late at night making a noisy entrance.These groups are often young,energetic and not thoughtful about noise in corridor (I am painting worst case here.It isn't always like that but keep in mind).Prefab construction allows you to monitor neighbouring conversation.

noticed that they sell Rush 900 baht. A bit busy last night with a few guys willing to have a BJ on them but not much else. Activity near VDO lounge.

HEAVEN SAUNA
This continues to be one of the more relaxing venues to hang out. The complete re-tiling of the outdoor roof area with non-slip grouts has made it a veritable joy to explore. Even when it rains it is a glory...

Have been 3 or 4 times in the last few weeks. Sat nights particularly busy. The downstairs locker area has been expanded with the wash basin/vanity being relocated allowing for more lockers. Absolutely as full as... Lots of action in the darker regions. Don't forget that rooms lack accessories... Definitely worth a visit as most seem to be locals so not affected by low season.

regarding heaven sauna, are there towel stations on the upper floor where the showers are located or do you have to go down to front desk?

The only place to get replacement towels is at the bar. There is usually a pile in the serving area but you have to ask. There is mostly at least one towel in the locker on arrival but when it is really busy there are none and you have to wait... Not very often.

Thankfully there are no nude nights as far as I'm aware.

- ETA./ETD.: 15.30.-22.oo.hrs.;
- Adm'n., w/e. rate: 260.Bh.;
- Until around 18.hrs. nos. around the pool varied between the LOW 20s. to maybe the 40s. or so; ratio of non-farangs: farangs approx. 45:55.;
- Upstairs Dark Room reasonably busy; exclamations from several of the rest-cabins gave one an idea of what was happening therein;
- Downstairs Steam-room not busy - quite often I was the only one therein;
- Inner Ctyd. OPENED at 16.hrs., (w/e. time.), initially neither the larger Dk.-rm. nor the Jacuzzi was too busy - but MORE visitors arr'd. after around 17.30.hrs.;
- The GF. rest't. was fairly busy after its opening; I went there from 19.15.- 20.15.hrs.; nos. of Happy Eaters varied from LESS than ten to around a score or so, with only one gp. of half-a-dozen joining us;
- Afterwards I ret'd. to the larger Steam-room & to the Jacuzzi, both of wch. were quite busy but spasmodically so. In the Jacuzzi I noticed, once again, that it was the maturer and portlier farangs who were attracting the non-farangs.

-- I forgot to write that twice in the larger steam-room young men offered themselves to me for the Final Favor;
- "You have Condom?", I enquired;
- The general response was along the lines of: 'No, I'm clean; so mai pen rai.'.
- With a Condom & lube. being provided in every locker it makes me wonder if the message about SAFE SEX has been getting through to the younger generation? Based upon the above I fear not.

Torpedo No More?
 

The front doors of Torpedo Sauna were padlocked shut when I arrived tonight at 7:30pm. There were no signs to indicate whether this is temporary or if the place has gone belly up.

I hope for the former, but fear the latter.

Is it true that Heaven Sauna is now 'more for bears'? I looked it up on the internet and found some posts at other forums and trip reports hinting that it was so. If that's the case, I definitely must drop by when I come to BKK in September.:p

Not sure about that, but it has always been more for working-age more than college age.

If you're really into bears (especially pandas), I recommend Bangkok 10 on Siphraya Road.

re Torpedo-thats the 1 on Ram 24 nah?
I saw on gthainet a big ad for Trio-now named Trio X club or so with all kind of naked/etc nights. This is on Ram 48 or so-fairly closeby and I seem to recall that it was all same owner (also Crusing 1 on Phaonyotin)
