I’ve read some of the earlier posts about Farose 1.
I used to go to Farose 1 when staying in Bangkok; it may not have been the most salubrious of places, but I found it was one of the best places to score, so I have some rather fond memories of the place. Half of the place was naked and on Friday and Saturday nights it was full of very cute naked Thai guys, with plenty of action happening all over the building.
I went back a couple of times during late August, and found it was a complete contrast, frankly it was bit quite and without the extensive naked zone and there wasn’t much action going on. I almost get the impression that the owner is happy to run down Farose 1 and but promotes Farose 2.
Does anyone familiar with the place have any recent positive experiences of Farose 1, was I unlucky or has it changed permanently.

Farose 2 is near here, RamkamHaeng (where I now sit), and is reported to be even much more rundown and dirtier, unclean as nr 1. Even broken glass etc strewn around. Unless this has also been surpassed by renewed interest.
Can rec. TORPEDO in RKHaeng soi 24. There have been some small reports on it in this thread long time ago. Will try to update later (now too busy catching up with all reports here).

Visited Farose 2 (Ramkhamheang 21 soi 2) last night for the first time, in the company of two Thai friends. Travelled to Rakkhamheang by airport link then 40 baht taxi to sauna.
We arrived at about 11pm. Price of entry was 300 baht (including 60 baht deposit for lock). Many people there already, almost all Thai....maybe 6 farang. Drink is free all night, whiskey and soft drinks; there is also free hot food available.
At approx 2am there is a show outside, near the pool. The usual ladyboy lip-synching with sexy male dancers performed several numbers, it was quite professional. A troup of boys paraded in skimpy attire, then later completely naked. Final act was a very athletic f*** show, all around the pool and amongst the crowd, by two of the boys.
The facilities are good but not particularly clean. The fourth floor has a naked area but of course the Thai boys all walk around covering their essentials!
I assume it is 'sticky rice' but didn't find out because I was ensconced with my Thai friend in a room for a large part of the night. It closes at 6am which corresponds nicely with opening of airport link and BTS, I was back at my place nr Surasak in less than an hour for a total of 80 baht(taxi, Link and BTS)

As right now I sit again in soi 29- can now take ARL to RKHaeng. Dont bother with that bus 537. take most buses going Up RKHaeng from ARL, like 60,71,113,115 (one of these passes Silom too) and get off at Big C. Cross road, walk into soi 24 (big road) and walk along it for about 6-700 mtrs. OR take motosy or red songhthaew wating a little furhter. Torpedo is just on the corner of T-junction further on. Lone standing high building. A little furhter along ABAC are more (or were?) gay palces (drink and have fun)

I think Farose 2 is very sticky-rice. I like looking at the city from the roof-top (and yes, they have volumes of free food up there, but although I like Thai food, I think they skimp on their food--cheap, yucky Thai food, in my opinion). The only attraction is they're open until 6 a.m. and a lot of Thai go there. Warning: one time I showed up early evening and was the first and only customer for maybe 2 hours. I tried to ask them what's going on and nobody could speak English, and someone kept trying to explain something to me that people don't start coming in until a lot later by pointing to the clock. You get 60 baht locker deposit back when you leave (they don't tell you this when you pay--but don't worry--they're very honest to refund it even if you don't know). I never noticed glass on the floor, but the rooms have mirrors--and I think they're all broken. Also, many of the rooms with good-size beds have all-glass walls (windows) facing out--who wants to have sex like that? Sometimes I wonder if people use binoculars or telescopes to watch people having sex.

I don't think Farose 2 qualifies as "very sticky rice". I have never left the place without having had as much sex as I wanted.

I would expect that if I was at a sauna and ignored the approach of a Thai guy I didn't much like the look of, he would correctly assume it was because I wasn't into him for one bodily reason or another. Just like when I am at a massage joint weighing up the boys on offer and ignoring those I don't like. I doubt that they would think of me as "a sticky potato".
So if you get ignored at a sauna, it's probably because some of your assets don't meet the expectations of the other clients, rather than being based on racism (which is what the term sticky rice implies). Try and look for ways to make yourself more attractive rather than decrying the entire place.

Hear, hear.

Personally, I hate the term, as it seems to be used mostly by farangs who somehow expect non-commercial Thai guys one third their age (and sometimes a third their weight) decline to jump in the sack with them at the snap of their white man-god fingers.

Strangely, the first explanation that comes to their mind is that it must be the race that's the problem rather than their age or shape. And they never seem to notice that old, overweight Thai guys don't seem to bother with places like Farose at all -- as they clearly understand it would probably be a waste of their time, too.

I'm in my mid-forties and realize my sell-by date is fast approaching at these places, so I'm enjoying them while I'm still able. When my sell-by date does arrive, I'll definitely blame it on myself, rather than some racist stickiness on the part of the young Thai guys. It's just plain hogwash.

Exactly, I've made the same experience. The thought that it might be rather their appearance or age than their race that stops Thai guys from finding them attractive never seems to cross their mind, for some strange reason I haven't yet figured out.
