-- In today's, (29th.), BKK. Post. 'paper. there is a suggestion - if I read it aright -that the curfew for BKK. may be lifted during this week-end; the decision resting with BKK's. Finest.

Thanks for the updates Sextiles - is Babylon still active? Wondering if I should head over for the afternoon on my layover later this week.

The pool and the pool area at Babylon are closed for repairs. I was told it would take two weeks. Admission reduced to 130B.

Smile Back with a vengeance

I am very happy to report that the Bangkok gay scene is back with a vengeance. Last night (Friday 4th June) DJ Station was packed and even the deafening floor show could not diminish the crowd. I left at 12:30 when it was so crowded you couldn't move. Also noticed most of the go-go bars are back in business, save Future Boys. Best was Dream Boys with high energy show, lots of sexy boys, and a full house. X-boys also very busy with a full compliment of boys. Hotmale not quite up to strength. Classic Boys was surprisingly disappointing with about six customers and the same number of models. Beach Boys a bit more lively. Maybe it is just the locals generating the business so far given the occupancy rates at the hotels are very low. E.g. Sukhothai offering half price deals with only 10% full. Babylon heavily discounting but apparently the pool area and half the sauna is closed for renovations. I will check it out tonight before flying home to aus. All in all, quite a remarkable turnaround from when I was last here on 16th - 19th May. How quickly the place recovers. Everyone is smiling again. Well done Thailand!

That upstairs room area (with the copies of Brueghel paintings) needs more air conditioning (always has). I don't like going into a room and sweating. I like non-sweaty sex--not a mess of sweating on a plastic floor.

-- Ah, but many do - hence the popularity of Steam Rooms!

Babylon still busy

Despite the pool area being closed, last night (Saturday 5th June) was still busy. Not the busiest I have seen it on a Saturday night but still quite a crowd. I agree the place is looking a bit neglected and tired. I usually stay there when I am in Bangkok, but the more than 50% discount at the Sukhothai (across the road, but accessible only from Sathorn Road) was too good to refuse. Babylon, on the other hand, has only discounted about 20% reflecting the relative meaness of its management.

-- For a largish sauna such as B'LON. it should not be too difficult to have a small space set-aside for the sleaze-lovers, while maintaining the rest of it at the HIGH std. expected by visitors from RoK., SGP., MY. & TH.; two disparate spaces complementing eachother.

-- Simple customers' svys. would shew the need for a sleaze-space, surely?
- Any supplier concerned about his/her customer-base and/or relations would carry-out svys. from time-to-time to ensure that he/she would be supplying what the customers need & want; the fickle customers' needs & wants do change over time. After all, when the hrs. of OPENING and of CLOSING were changed B'LON. SAUNA made a big point of displaying posters info'ing. us that it listened to what its customers were saying - remember?
