got a good laugh out of this string

never been to the one in Venice and am sorely tempted. Van Nuys is fun, wide variety of ages and personalities there, little attitude more just looking and having fun. Is Venice the same? Best weekday time to hit them?

Well all this banter has killed any fun at Roman Holiday in Mar Vista California. It seems this board does a real disservice at times, not just in this instance. There have been reports by several how 'hot spots' have been ruined because of postings on this board. Roman Holiday has looked like a rest home for senior citizens for the past two Saturdays, thanks to the rantings of how 'fun' it is there. All this unecessary chats ruins it for so many. It will now take months after this thread dies for things to get back to the way they were, since the fun attractive men have been run off to somewhere else or don't want to be bothered with what it has turned into once again. It pads the pockets of the owners but does nothing for the rest of us. I would not be surprised is this was a ploy just to drum up business for the proprieters. Some things and places are better off not mentioned and left "as best kept secrets".

Exclamation HIT-OR-MISS - Today was almost a MISS

I thought today, a Federal holiday of Presidents' Day, that the ROMAN HOLIDAY would be a "sure bet".

I go about 3 or 4 times per year and always see every age group there.

Arrived at 2:30pm today. Club was busier than a normal Monday with the majority of the crowd in the 65 y/o to 85 y/o range, with one very fit man about 50 y/o, and then two obese men probably in their 40s.

I would have gone for the very fit 50 y/o .... his room across from mine. Heard him say, "No, thank you." to the 6 or 7 men that popped their head into his door. He finally went with one of the obese 40s y/o guys. "Muscle Dude" was a "Chubby Chaser".

Began to realize what the guy that had posted previously about this place when he was talking about being older. But I had seen every age range on every prior visits here.

I had nothing better to do today ..... so I just hung there. By 6:30p the majority that I saw there when I checked in at 2:30 had checked out by now.

Four guys then checked in almost right in a row .... two older men and then BINGO! two younger guys. Then another younger guy ...with him being the first to come into my room, brief j/o & then he left.

Then one of the other young men came into my room. A "VERY GOOD" time was had!!! Well worth the wait. Was the "frosting-on-the-cake" and the reason why one goes to such a club.

I decided to whirpool it and then a shower before I went home. Now about 8:15pm. Saw a guy whom I hadn't seen before ....he in his 40s.

I dressed and went to the check-out window just about 8:30pm as they were buzzing someone new in. He was quite the handsome guy in his 20s. Attendant checked me out and then buzzed me through the lobby door. Another young man was at window checking in. (so would have been 2 older men (65+), 1 guy in his 40s, and then 5 guys in their 20s at 8:30p)

Proves that all cruising is HIT-OR-MISS. Today was almost a MISS ...then that final HIT(s).

Made it finally

OK....sums it up. It was worth the detour as I had to be in Santa Monica anyway today. Based on this experience I wouldn't make a special trip just to be there. Its small and was barely half full.

I checked in about 12:30 and stayed until 3. I played with a quite few men, which is nice as I have little time for pretty boys who want to pose and be admired. The crowd was primarily bottom oriented and since I was in a bottom mood I was disappointed I didn't get my ass banged.

Interesting mix and the "hit" ratio for a place with fewer than a dozen men was good. Good mix of ages, a couple of really hot young guys. The down side was the two in their 60's that smoked nonstop in their rooms.

The employees who met me at the door were really helpful in recommending which room to take since this was my first visit. Good advice as I had some good traffic and resulting visitors.

The interesting staff I did not see were two who shrieked behind closed doors near the lockers over vacation time and who abuses, who gets to go next whatever. Labor unrest is not pretty nor conducive to getting laid.

Overall it was OK. If I lived in the 'hood I'd probably visit a few times a year if anything for kicks and giggles. Would I make the special trip from Pasadena just for their, probably not as the chances of a miss is too great.

I was quite surprised from the crowd that I saw there when I was checked-in the day after Christmas to what the crowd looked like for first 4 hours this past Monday! I always had given ROMAN HOLIDAY high ratings. Previously had seen every age range, then for it to be very older & that was about it until the evening.

Will ocassionally keep my eyes peeled here for future reviews of other guys visits to this place.
