Hello Everybody,
my name is Jay and I am new to this Forum. I am going to BKK for the 5th time in June but I have never been to any commercial sex places. I would really like to find a great place to get a good massage/spa treatment by a man. However I do not want any sex with him. The focus is supposed to be on a really well trained massage. So far the 'non sex' places I have been to have only had female masseurs. So if I go to one of the numerous gay spas is it all about sex there or is it possible to get a genuine massage without sex and without the 1000 (or whatever) baht tip. Regards

About 12 - 18 months ago, I had a great massage by a guy at The Sanctuary. I can't remember how, but I had understood beforehand that they had well-trained masseurs, and as a matter of policy, wouldn't do anything sexual. Indeed no indication was made in that direction.
It's somewhat difficult to find, being a little way up Rama 4 Road and then tucked in a soi. Do a search for the address and hopefully a map. Easier to locate would be those along Silom Road, such as Silom Massage, Sawatdee Massage, Phranee Massage etc. They have both males and females so you can ask for a guy. The problem is that the quality of the massage is variable and much depends on the luck of the draw. I've had great sessions, I've had unsatisfactory ones. The masseurs are not beneath providing sex, but they don't expect to do that routinely. They'll be quite happy giving you a massage (to whatever standard they can) and taking a tip that is smaller than you would have to pay in a sexy-massage place.

I will again recommend Pranee Massage at Silom. Its located one floor above Boots pharmacy at Saladaeng BTS station. No sex and the guys are mostly good at massage. I've been with different masseurs and each and have no complaints about them. Just a 100bht tip after an hour massage (500bht for 1hr) will make the masseur happy.

thanx wowpow!
for that detailed recommendation. I will check out candlethai spa! I have been to wat po many years ago to see the reclining buddha. I did see the open massage area but i thought it was just for tourists to get their shoulders kneaded for 10 minutes or so. Also it was REALLY crowded. They had everybody lined up real close. Not a very relaxing atmosphere. Is this what you were speaking of or is there a different area? I have been to marble house twice because it was recommended in my travel guide. There was about a year between the two visits. I did ask for the blind man but they said they don't have one working there. Actually no man at all. Both times it were older women. Maybe I was there at the wrong time. I got a traditional massage the first time and an oil massage the second time. Both were 'ok' but by no means great. Both times they finished early. I paid for 2 hours but it was over after 90 minutes. Maybe they counted the time i needed to shower as well However I never went there again. So thank you again for the recommendations. J.

Although this is my first post on this form, I have been reading, and enjoying, your form for some time. I have a great interest in this topic with massage qualifications in Swedish and Deep Tissue from the US, as well as 3 certificates from Wat Pho. I do love nothing better than a good massage.
When I go to places like Arena, I always explain that I want someone who gives a good massage. (Don’t get me wrong I do like a happy ending.) To be honest, I have never been disappointed. Occasionally, I have shared some massage techniques with the guys, who seem always willing to learn something new. Someone once suggested I go to ‘Body Tune’ on the Silom Rd, near Saladang BTS. They provide Tradidional Thai massage, etc., in nice setting. The last time I was there, however, I thought I would come away black and blue, ouch! Wat Pho is the best in Thailand, founded by the king, with massage therapists following a sequence worked out by a number of experts in the field, and not just picked up at home. If you do go ask for the full 5 steps Traditional Thai massage taught in their school. It’s a bit more expensive, but it is worth it, while not on their menu it is available on request. If you do opt for the herbal massage, make sure you don’t mind if any underwear worn underneath the clothes they give you to put on is stained yellow from the herbal compresses. Wat Pho does an outcall massage service. They can come to your house, or hotel, to provide the massage there. Just give them a call (02) 22-12-97-4 and book any day they are open before 5:00PM. For the best professional Thai Traditional Massage in Chiang Mai try the Old Medicine Hospital. As for me, I think I will try Wowpow’s suggestion of ‘Candle Thai Spa’ when next in Bangkok. IEB

IEB is right.. if you go to a gay massage place, ASK the person in charge which boy is professionally trained. Most places have at least a one or two that are trained. They may not be the best looking, or most willing to participate in post massage sex, but you will get a good massage. I know one young gentlemen, "Tom" at Adonis is Wat Pho trained and a very good masseur.

i am surprised that no one has mentioned health land on sathorn yet. i find that i get a good massage and no hanky panky. in room shower and you can choose a male or female attendant.
another place i am surprised no one has mentioned is spa bangkok. i find that the the all male staff is very well trained, the atmosphere is pretty relaxing, and its not a sex place per se, though you could get a happy ending if you wanted one. i recommend a guy named nut. very good technique, and a good personality, and very cute. they are located on soi phipat 3...you can google spa bangkok to get the address...forgot off the top of my head. candle t is nice, as others have said. didn't know chakran also did massage. i tried their sister place (v spa or whatever its called once) and hated it. i made the mistake of picking out the biggest hunkiest guy...and should have known...lol. what a lug.

yes, you can choose a male therapist for both body or foot massage at health land. but i don't think you wil get any happy ending. they have signs posted all over that if anything happens, call such and such a number to report it, etc. the staff are likely afraid to do anything extra as they are under the assumption that it could be a test. so, health land is not where you should go if you want a guaranteed happy ending or anything else..but there are enough of those places around. hope this helps.

I was there about a week ago. I almost couldn't find the place. The problem was that their shop was actually inside a multistoreyed garage. Now who would expect a spa to be inside a garage?
Inside, it was calm, aesthetic and pleasantly scented. The service was superb. I was given slippers, a bathrobe and at least 3 changes of towels. I took the scrub and massage package which cost 1300 baht and lasted a total of 2 hours. When I resisted the sea salt scrub, they proposed a blended cream-based alternative, which was superb for my skin type. For the massage I opted for orange essence oil. Skill-wise, the guy (Porky) who worked on me wasn't the best I've had, but pretty good. I'd rate him a B+. I felt he knew all his strokes well, but was not spot-on in anatomy, that is to say, the placing of the thumb, fingers and strokes did not always correspond well to the needed anatomical location. Secondly, his applied pressure was not entirely consistent - perhaps 2 hours was too tiring. The facilities are in good condition. I know how difficult it is to keep such facilities in good repair. I notice things like whether the drainage is choked, whether airconditioning is quiet, whether scum has built up on the shower room tiles. I'm glad to report full marks on all these and more. Highly recommended. I noticed that Sanctuary Spa was not only at their old location, but is also next door to Candle T Spa. Is there a difference between these 2 locations, does anyone know?
