Last time I went they all seemed straight to me. They're also often a bit nervous about doing anything if the manager is inside the bar, usually waiting until he goes outside.

Sorry this goes back a month. No, SOLID bar's prices have not changed - 100 Bt per drink. I usually find just a few customers when I call in. Don't know what was happening last Sunday but the bar was packed. one customer was buying drinks for 5 guys, another for 3. Unfortunately several were smoking (cigarettes).

Like too many in Bangkok, Solid is, unfortunately, an ashtray bar.
Being small, it soon stinks with only 1 or 2 smokers.:mad:

The boys no longer smoke in the bar. Several signs are displayed stating "No Smoking", but management allows these to be ignored by customers, some of whom seem quite inconsiderate.

The current mamasan/waiter/whatever claims personally not to like the smoking, but is complicit in allowing it.

Pity, as it can be a gem of a place, and I will keep going, but be cautious where I sit.

I have never had any issue with the boys performing whilst the manager has been inside - he was usually there to enforce his no cumming rule. They sometimes would try when he did go outside. I have offed in the past and they are not all straight.

Back in BKK for first time in 7 months. Went to Dicks Cafe for something to eat and then grabbed my favorite boy from Dreamboys.

We stopped at one bar which overall is my favorite and that is X Boys next to Fresh Beach.

Spotless clean, good AC reasonable volume on music. Excellent Mamasans who are not too pushy but have been knowledgeable in the past on what the boys will do.

Good selection of boys with a few stunners. Seems to be a Happy place to work . 260 baht for a diet soda is just ridiculous however and I have started to give boys I call over a 100 baht rather then pay 260 baht for a watered down drink that they don't want.

Since I brought a boy with me the Bar made its money on our 2 drinks which I think is enough.

More random thoughts on Soi Twilight

Usually have dinner at Dick's Cafe where I find the food excellent and very fairly priced. Decided to try Maxi's one night. Found it to be not as good as Dicks's and about 30% more for everything. Wait staff was also completely confused.

Show at Dream Boys was pretty good and a lot of good looking boys. However I got the impression that most of the good looking ones were strictly Men and expected a very high Tip.

Fresh Beach had some very good looking boys who were probably more willing in other areas but that is only an impression.

Still like XBoys the best. Between the boys and the Coyote Dancers a very good bar and very willing boys.

But that said the prices for drinks on the Soi have become ridiculous and I am glad I am leaving today for Pattaya where drinks are 1/2 the price or less.

A wet Friday night in Bangkok
 

Having arrived late from Cambodia, I decided to make a quick visit to a couple of bars. I always start with Solid, as that has always been one of my favorites over the years and I have had fun with many nice boys from there. Since Lex left, Solid is not the same, and it now has a very poor selection of boys. The bar was quite busy, but a lot of people smoking. One customer had about 4/5 boys around him. and the remaining boys were not attractive to me so I left. Drink was THB100, but I think the price is going to increase.

As it was raining very heavily, I decided to pop upstairs to Super A. This bar is just as squalid as ever, and I was the only customer. For the first time I found a couple of the boys who sat with me quite pleasant, and there was some mutual groping until the rain stopped. Another customer came in just as I left. Drinks were TGB100 but one of the boys told me that the price would be THB130 from today (1 November).

The it was on to Taurus/Tuarus. There were only 6 bored looking boys, on stage and absolutely no atmosphere. One other customer came in and on of the 6 boys went to sit with him. Beer was THB150. The manager, was trying to get me to go downstairs to have a massage. (More of that in the massage thread.)

Finally, it was time for a quick visit to Screw Boy to see an old friend of mine, Dom No 41. Lots of good looking boys rotating on stage. Drink was THB200. Quite a few customers there as well.
