You do go to the table/mattress naked after the shower. Depending on the establishment they may then place a towel over the intimate part. This can be intensely irritating when the masseur spends an inordinate amount of time re adjusting the towel as he does the massage. If at the end they take the towel away and finish with a hand job or more you are wondering why did we go through that whole charade in the first place!

BODY Club/ukhumvit 8-again
Travelled-via Malysia and even with lowcost AirAsia XLback home. Went to this place the last week when i was in BKK. First goal was in fact Banana in Sukh 11-but this soi, with Bed and Q-bar (banana is just opposite) and its hi-so sky-high prices with the attached glitzy glamour does not appael to me. Also Banana had just 3 masseurs sitting outside and even though their ad says ''pay 1 hr-get 1 free'' its more like pay 2 even for 1. It seems to catch on the visitors to hero who find the walk too long-nmainly the type Asians seem to prefer.
In soi 13 are 2 other places mentioned-someone abobe asked baout it-but this soi-beside the Ambassador hoel-was under grpss reconstruciton and i guess those places have been torned down.
I distrusted Bodyclub somewhat as it advertsies in the BKK-post. its on the right-hand side of the first subsoi right hand when you enter soi 8-as their sign was not lighted I even feared for a closure. Just opposite is a big female joint with many ladies sitting outside. Coming off the BTS I took the wrong stairs and when walking this part of Sukhumvit I realsied why I dont like it there at all- a combo of the worstthings BKK has on offer for farang.
Me with my Thai customs also got it wrong: as I saw some shoes standing outside I duly left mine-which was not meant to be. They were after ''ordein'' howeer brougth attentive to me.
The palce looks like an older budgethotel converted to its present use. After a cool water i was asked if it was my 1st time-yes, this palce. Then doorman-speaking excellent english-told me the min. tip was 500 for shower+massage but 1000 for sex included. Their 90 mins oil is a bargain-@390 even cheaper as most normal places charge for that. he you get to choose a boy from some classroom sight of some 30/35 boys-one might as well throw some stick-on darts. Captain was of no help in this choosing. Does anyone has any tips for doing that better?
The 1 I hit turned out to be named GOH, 19 yrs was 1 yr younger as my estimate (puhh, I get to see too many Thai?) and hailed from 101-came to BKK after fnishing Mo6 and spoke quite good english. The place offers in-roomshowers (and as rooms have all windows removed-this may lead to dampness), but I found a bit of rancid smell when lying on the bed more apparent. All boys shower with you both before and after. Turned out Goh was just in his 4th working day there-but he had worked before in NOBODY in Sukh.33-and must have learnt the trade there. I had to recall the old teacher in me-to show how to set the shower a bit less hot. His massage was clearly experienced-but alas, the recent White House exp. I had myself made me teach him again some more finesse in his strokes-for he seemed much obliged-I nearly got a ''wai kruh''(special wai that only teachers get from students). He was quite willing to please-but thats no really what I want (but realistically know to expect on a 1st time) from some treatment service. Anyway 7,5 for mass, 7,5 for sek-with the idea to spend more time and be less 'give me whatever seems allright'' for a next try-which anyway will have to wait till late this year.

What used to be Tuarus massage is open again for massage and now renamed as Twinks. Some of the boys look ok to me. They have a white and blue uniform and were mostly sitting out on the veranda this evening with an outside bar....possibly offering free drinks to celebrate the opening.

I was interested in pong's report on Body Club, as this place has only recently become of interest. In the past, I had never considered it.

A falang friend told me what good value it was, that the facilities were passable, and how he had had several good experiences there.
He did this on the morning of the day I was leaving the country for a block of time! How is that for timing which sucks?
But I plan to try it next time I am in town.

pong specifically mentioned that the mamasan was of no help in making a choice of masseur.
This has almost always been my experience. They merely show your a price card, and set up a line-up or wahtever, and then you are on your own.
Hence it is complete guesswork or intuition about a choice.
My experience suggests the odds are about 60:40 in favour of a good time, but it is pure luck.
Most mamasans are only interested in being sure that you do take a masseur and spend some money, rather than leave. Am I getting too cynical?

Hence I should mention a recent visit to Aqua, my first visit.
I sat with a pleasant mamasan, with excellent English, friendly and chatty without being swarmy, who seemed to actually want to help my choice, and who wanted to know what type I was after, and who made suggestions.

So re-assured was I (or was it shock?) that I even went with this mamasan's recommendation, rather than the boy I might have chosen myself.
Normally I would never do that!
And it turned out to be one of the best overall experiences that I have ever had in a masage joint.

One never knows!!

About Body Club, a friend working there (a very reliable Thai guy) told me that a customer DIED while being "massaged" in the afternoon of Mon 23 Mar. Apparently an Asian customer. The masseur got a shock, went down to report to the captain, who called a doctor. The pronouncement: heart attack. The police and the owner of the club arrived later. The body was removed on the quiet. Anyone has news or more info on this?

Some of the boys (including my friend) now refuse to go back to work there. I'm told it's business as usual.

Many very proper places give a handjob after massage. It is not considered sex at all, though the manager mustn't know about it. I never had problems just giving the masseur 100-200 baht for their small "service". Some try to take advantage by demanding 1,000 baht, but I always say no, I'll have more fun playing with myself for no fee.

I've been rather inconsistent, though I haven't gone as low as 100 baht. I figure 300 baht would be about right. However, there have been one or two occasions when I went mad and gave him 500 baht.

I just wanted to know whether 500 was truly mad.
