actually I was thinking about that the normal pronunciation I hear is like ; Sa - Moke . 2 distinct syllables - sa as in "sat" and moke as in "more" with a soft k finish.
I don't know if its correct but usually ask "sup dai-mai" as in "sup -buri" . They seem to have no trouble understanding the context but if you ask if they "suck" they dont have a clue what you are talking about. The "smoke" term seems to be generally used in Asian countries like Sing and Malaysia.
