Here is a follow-up about my experiences with thailovelinks. I posted earlier that this is a pay site (one cannot communicate with others unless he or the other person is a paid member--and I think almost nobody else is a paid member, thus requiring my paid membership).
Anyway, I met a very large number of nice Thai guys on there, but this only resulted in a very FEW actual meetings when I was in Bangkok for 2 weeks recently. Also, here are some problems with the site: first, you will get contacted by a lot of women. This is odd because one time I tried to respond back to one of these woman and say that obviously I was looking only for men, so what led her to respond to my profile? but the system would not let me send her any message (I got an error message because her profile said F for M, and mine said M for M--so I don't know how all these women have been able to send to me). Second, even though my profile says please only respond if you're in Bangkok area, most of the expressions of interest I get are from upcountry people. I send them a response that I'm just looking for people in Bangkok are, and some say they are actually in Bangkok area. Anyway, I've learned to just ignore these expressions of interest. Before my earlier trip slightly more than 6 months ago, I met a lot of guys on gayromeo, and reduced those to a manageable list to try to actually meet. It seems that those guys were more interested in actually meeting than almost all the ones I met on thailovelinks before my most recent trip. But none of the gayromeo ones resulted in anything approaching a relationship. Also, on thailovelinks, I found that the Thai who INITIATED contact with ME ended up being interested meeting and then sleeping over. Where I initiated contact, and they were then interested in me, these usually ended up being a waste of time: most ended up being too busy to meet, or were entertained by the whole thing, or thought it was very strange that I was actually trying to set up a meeting, etc. Also, I found that one should carry a list of guys' phone numbers in one's pocket, because when they call, they NEVER say who they are, and just start talking, "hi, how are you . . ." and they all sound the same, and I'd have to ask them their name, or tell them I have to call them back (after looking them up in my records in my room, by their phone number). With my caller i.d. and my list of their numbers and names on one sheet in my pocket, I could quickly look up who was calling. Anyway, I'm trying to find a good relationship, and I did meet 4 really nice Thai on thailovelinks who I really liked. Two of these are ones I'd be happy to have a relationship with. One of these two just talked for 3 hours (in a personal meeting in my room) but ended up being in a hurry to go to some event later, and we could not meet again because he had to go upcountry (he has a good education and interesting job, etc.). He kept sending me text messages that he really liked me. Oddly, since returning to U.S., I've sent him e-mails which he does not respond to. My general impression with Thailovelinks is that many of the guys think it's entertaining/funny when you call them and actually try to meet--but on gayromeo, they expect to meet, or immediately play games where you immediately know to delete these people from your list. There were two on thailovelinks who worked and lived by Suvarnabhumi who got a big kick out of my proposing ahead-of-time to simply take a taxi to meet them after I arrived at BKK (this would avoid them having to try to come into central Bangkok later). We never met. Later we just went around and around trying to set up a meeting, and never met (everything would have worked out a lot better if they just let me take a taxi to see them very quickly). Also, I think I only met one person on thailovelinks who had a car (gayromeo is probably the same).

I've noticed something new (a farang friend mentioned this happening to him a few months ago, and it just happened to me now). I met a Thai guy on thailovelinks.com and we met at the end of December and talked for 3 hours, but he had to run. He has a nice job and a car and lives with his mother. Then, he kept texting that he missed and loved me so much. I texted back, but his responses were erratic (would not hear back for a long time). A few days ago he sent me some e-mails and quickly mentioned wanting to borrow some money (no amount stated). I wrote that I can't lend or give him any money. He wrote back that he was just "testing" me to see what my "intentions" were! Apparently this is their new thing to say when you say no. (What's funny is in one of my early texts to him after meeting him, I said I like Thai guys with good jobs who save their money and don't need any money.)

Was wondering why Gay Romeo has such a huge user base here and in Malaysia and Singapore ? These areas in particular are regularly offering me commercial propositions either blatantly
or between the lines. It is a curious site. i am happiest with Gaydar and Fridae but would like to know what CFS thinks.

I just find Romeo the quickest and easiest to use with profile, pics and comments about the guys all available in a flash, and good interactive chat facility. As a member you have can multiple profiles, choose to be invisible on-line, identify favourites and block pests.

It is relatively easy to meet guys from Gayromeo, especially when one has set definite dates visiting a particular city or location. Just get all your details & lots of pics on your profile. I'm referring to my experience in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia & Cambodia, & even Myanmar.
Last weekend, out of 7 or 8 guys listed on Gayromeo in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, I managed to get 3 positive contacts, and actually met 2 of them. The third I did not meet since I decided to purchase group tour from a local agent instead of using a free-lance gay guide. The first guy was a 20-year old student, and he was my dinner companion, & took me around the city on his motorbike & we checked out the only gay hotel/bar in town. The second guy actually worked at the gay hotel(Cheers), and I believe was luring Gayromeo gays to the establishment. But he was a very friendly Thai from Chiang Rai. I saw & met some Khmer guys alone, & with foreigner friends at Cheers. I also met some guys from one of the many beachside bars/restaurants & had good karaoke sessions with them - would you believe it that a good karaoke session with 4 jugs of Ankor beer & a pack of cigarettes cost less than USD8!. And the beer was simply smooth & delicious. One of them was very friendly & we could have gone all the way...but he had Emma tatooed on his chest(he actually came to inspect my room, but...)...another time perhaps.
