But I agree, obviously if they say they want someone to take care of them, or they have a hot photo, or they're over-eager to meet me, then I know it's for money. But I did connect with some over-eager guys and everything was very good. I think many of the over-eager ones learned that they have to be that way, otherwise other Thai get the farangs first.

Okay--I'll break down and give the site where I think it's higher-quality Thai guys. Thailovelinks.com But too many seem to be students or have no job, and some even put in their profiles that they want someone to take care of them. So maybe I'll have a lot of money boys in disguise when I actually try to meet them on my upcoming trip. But I've tried to eliminate all those from my list. Beware that you can't communicate with anyone on thailovelinks unless you pay for membership. I did 3-month at $20 a month. It seems that almost nobody on there has a paid subscription (but that does not matter if I have paid subscription). I get hit on all the time--mostly from guys outside Bangkok. Also, a lot of women (even though my profile says man for man, and I also say I'm only interested in someone in Bangkok area). There are a lot of things I don't like about that site (search methods make no sense, difficult to search like on other sites, etc.). And it's hard to figure out how the site works (options, etc.). Like I just figured out by accident that one can hit a button to "express interest."

Read and analyse some of your own previous posts and you might gets some clues as to why you cop some negative.
"Beware that you can't communicate with anyone on thailovelinks unless you pay for membership. I did 3-month at $20 a month. It seems that almost nobody on there has a paid subscription...." You really think the average young Thai man (working or not working) can afford 600Baht for such subscriptions? But perhpas that's an indication of what you mean by 'high quality'.

It's marked on pretty much every map. It's the Soi that you go down to go to Babylon from South Sathorn.
Starting at Rama 4, walk along South Sathorn. Your immediately in front of a big glass office tower 'Q House Lumpini'. Soi 1 starts at the end of that property. On the opposite corner of that same soi (on South Sathorn) is the JUSMAC complex (joint Thai / US military agency). Agree with ICON, there are plenty of very wealthy Thais living in that area. This point has background as to why Babylon (in it's first location and current location) is even in that actual area.

When I first checked out thailovelinks, I was disappointed that I could not send messages to anyone (unless they had a paid subscription) unless I paid for subscription. I also figured out that, it seemed, nobody else had paid subscriptions. So I paid, and found that I could send and receive messages (even if other guys did not have subscriptions). I found that the quality of the experiences was better than on gayromeo. It seemed that gayromeo was all about the Thai guys getting bombarded by vast (almost insane) volumes of contacts. There was also a lot of weird games--I even had some Thais get mentally sadistic if I did not promise immediately to be their monagamous boyfriend. I'd appreciate hearing about other people's experiences with thailovelinks. Hopefully the contacts I made there will be real when I go to Bangkok and actually try to meet them in person. I also had some really great upcountry guys contact me, but I had to tell them that I'm only looking for guys in Bangkok. In fact, I think if you're looking for upcountry guys, you'll be amazed at some of the non-narcissic guys on there. I actually had some hot masculine military and other uniformed guys go after me.

Thanks for explaining where Sathorn Soi 1 is. I thought it was probably that soi. My Bangkok map (yellow cover, bought at Border's Books, "Periplus Travel Maps") labels it as "Soi Atthakan Prasit." But now I vaguely remember a taxi driver or motorcycle guy calling it "Sathorn Soi 1" once, I think.

I agree--I totally can't figure out why there are all those Thai guys on there with unpaid subscriptions. All they can do is send "indications" of interest and see if the other guy will pay in order to write back. I've found that a lot of things in cruising make no sense. This whole thailovelinks thing makes no sense.

"....see if the other guy will pay in order to write back."
Take a moment to analyse what your saying. If you have limited income (and 90% of Thai young men have limited to very limited income, and some maybe zero income especially if they are students), then you work with what you have / what you can afford. Nothing really wrong with that. Your comment sounds like they are out to trick someone / take advantage of someone. Or maybe this is an indicator of what you are all about.

Wantasian - Beware of upcountry guys. Many of them are veterans of Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket & Hua Hin gay/non-gay bars, of massage houses or other pleasure spots. Or incidentally they're back home during the low seasons. Not all of them are students or out-of-work graduates.
