Chiang Mai update

Visited Chiang Mai again for five days last week and went to all 4 go-go bars: Circle Pub, New My Way, Adam's Apple, and Freeguys, the first and last offering the best shows. I am yet to off a satisfactory boy from any of these bars because they are mostly straight. Many are from Myanmar thus sporting bigger cocks and a macho self interested attitude yet are not particularly good looking. On three separate visits to this otherwise wonderful city, I have offed those that seemed willing and best physical specimens only to later discover they expected to be paid simply to watch them wank. They wouldn't kiss, suck or do much else!

Also went to Blue Club massage which was a rip-off at 1700 baht including tip for what is supposed to be a 90 minutes massage with a happy ending, neither of which is satisfactorily delivered. On the other hand, Classic House massage at 800 baht for 120 minutes plus discretionary tip once again delivered in spades.

Anyway, one doesn't go to Chiang Mai for the gay scene. My local gay taxi driver/guide continues to find new exotic places to visit and always chooses great restaurants. Anyone wanting his contact details can email me.

This parallels my observations of hilltribe boys (I think most of the boys you are talking about are hilltribes rather than Burmese). They can be stunningly handsome, but you are shit out of luck if you want anything more than getting fucked or giving a bj. They are much more inhibited than their Thai cousins.

As far as I know, there are hardly any hilltribe boys as gay massage service boys. Most are Tai-Yai from just across the border. On the other hand, there are many hilltribals in "normal" massage places.

Aren't the Thai-Yai (Shan) considered a hilltribe? Maybe I have my nomenclature wrong.

I have run into two Akha boys in the "industry" in Bangkok as well as several "Jeen Hor" from the villages around Mae Sariang and lots of Karen. Also many Hmong and Lisu in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai in the past; not sure about present numbers.

Blue club off my list:

1) Called & made a booking, arrived 15 minutes before time 'Boy just left, regular customer called, can you come back in 2 hours?'

No. 2) Picked boy from photos, mamasan promised he would be there in 20 minutes, mamasan now not to be found, spoke to 2nd mamasan asked 'where is the boy I booked?'... 'sorry he don't have mobile phone cannot contact him'... first mamasan reappears full of over the top apologies, 'coming now'... 10 minutes later different boy appears and they insist it's the same boy from the photo. I noticed a small birth mark on the face on the boy standing there and asked 'why the boy in photo don't have this same mark on his face?' All embarrassed, offered me 50Baht discount If I take the unordered boy. Not my type at all, no thanks.

3) Final attempt, had a cream massage, no service whatever, and I got a rash from the massage cream, over the counter pharmacy cream didn't help. McCormich hospital gave me a stonger cream took one week to clear it up.

MY CURRENT FAVORITE VENUE IN CM:

The place I currently find good in CM is Victory massage. The owner is very pleasant, speaks Intermediate plus English, obviously gay but not over the top, very friendly, good listener, keen to please. Cold beer, not expensive

Lots of boys but they wait for customers in a shophouse about 1 minute walk away. You select one or two boys from photos (includes a handfull of tech college boys (over 18)) and they appear quickly, manager quite relaxed if you select 2 more to view. but he won't bring all the boys at the same time. Why? Don't know.

Rooms are upstairs, not the best rooms you've ever seen, a bit old, but certainly not the worst i've seen, quite clean and all the rooms I've used have en-suite shower. Boys always seem to be polite and try to please. Like any massage venue it's hit and miss whether they are actually straight boys.

From my experience best to arrive 5.30 - 6.00pm or later, seems to be the same in most CM venues.

They always seem to have a handful of boys not showing on their website. I guess these would mostly be the tech school boys but not sure.

From Rachada cafe site:

"Victory Massage 152/4 Rakaeng Road Click for Map
Telephone: 053 275813 or 081 5687339
Website: www.victory-massage.net
Located Just off Chang Klan Road South of the Night Bazzar across from the Lanna Palace Hotel"

Note: Lanna Palace hotel (big) in on a corner with traffic lights. A large road runs down one side of the hotel. A small stret runs past the front of the hotel and a small street runs down the other side of the hotel, Victory is on the smaller street down the side of the hotel, in the middle of a row of shophouses, exactly opposite the side of the Lanna Palace hotel

Tai-yai are not hilltribals. They are a big ethnic group that mostly inhabit the Shan plateau of Myanmar. Akha and Lisu are hilltribals who inhabit the hill slopes. Jeen-hor are also not hill tribals. They are Chinese people who came to this area due to historical circumstances.

The 2 saunas

There seem to be only 2 saunas left in Chiang Mai - Club One Seven and House of Male. One Seven seems to be far more expensive and you'd need to be a member. Anyone can comment on comparing the two - the clientele and the environment?

HOM is getting along in age and shows it. If you don't mind the beer soaked Aussie owner's leering and gossiping, the clientele can sometimes make for a pleasant time.

The owner is an Aussie? Is he always around? and where? How does one avoid this character? The reception seems always to be a Thai.

Hi, I heard that the Golden Hand Massage opposite the Central has a good selection of guys. Is it true?

Would that be a straight or gay joint?

Chiang mai members - 'see man pub'

I just noticed a listing in 'OUT' magazine May 2012 issue, as follows:

- 'See Man Pub' - under the listings for 'go-go clubs and host bars'
- Shown on map as way down Huay Kaew Road, way past the othe venues 'freeman' etc etc.
- Tel no 053 218 241. I called several times but nobody answers.

Any CM members know of this cluub? worth a visit? Does it have show? etc.

Thanks.

Noticed it but never been inside. Looks nowhere near an explicitly gay place.
