Prior to CL and the advent of many of the more generalized dating sites the bulletin boards, rags like the Berkeley Barb and other print and special interest sources provided the hook up links. They were harder to access for guys who are flying under cover, were not widely circulated or known but worked. One of the problems with sites like CL and also the big portals like Yahoo, MSN and AOL is people can be anything they want, there is no way to verify if you are talking to someone who is real or who is living in a complete fantasy world, or worse, chatting with cops or bashers in disguise. CFS and sites like it offer a little more veracity. I the market will come back to CFS over time.
