I have not been out to the bars in quite some time (4-5 months) are the same boys at nature boys or have a few new ones been added?

I dropped into Solid Bar about 9pm on Friday July 17 and was suprised to see only seven sad looking boys inside and no customers. It really has been a lowest of low seasons. I like Solid Bar and hope it can survive these difficult times.

The nearby Twink Bar manager tried to drag me in there everytime I walked past at any time of day. "We have 30 boys - you come and look". So on my last night for this visit I did check it out and there were six street urchins inside trying to gain my attention. Times are tough in Bangkok.

- Music at usual HIGH volume.
- I did not see either smoking of ciggies. or ash-trays, but when I took-off my shirt it did smell of cigarette smoke.

I must have just left, as I popped in for one beer at about 8:30/9pm. The boys actually made me a bit uncomfortable (1st time in many years) because they were staring intensely at me like a pack of hungry wolves! I'd have actually stayed a bit longer, but had other engagements.

I was also in Super A (again the only customer) and man has that place taken a dive. When I lived in Silom (about 4-5 years ago) this was something of a favorite spot for me, but I didn't even finish my beer this visit. It probably wouldn't have been so bad, but a guy who was not attractive (to me) at all simply attached himself to me and would not leave me alone no matter what I said/did (politely, of course and even in my broken Thai). He insisted on trying to constantly kiss me, etc. Anyway... it surely wasn't like old times.

I was also in Super A a few nights ago. Sigh. It certainly has gone downhill (I know; some of you would be astonished to think that was possible) in the past ... decade. It was a favorite bar of mine in the 1990s, but there is not much to see nowadays. Absolutely pitiful go-go dancers (one at a time) and a scruffy cast of characters laying around the room. In fairness, there are several nice guys there, ones who are pleasant to talk to and aren't pushy. But as far as turn ons, there ain't a lot there. As for nearby Solid, I've never felt comfortable in that bar, nor have I seen anything in recent visits that made me want to off anyone.
I've gone out twice in the past 3 weeks, visiting those bars, as well as Screw Boy, Jupiter, Hot Male and My Way. In my opinion, those places are going downhill too. Screw Boy has some especially large and scary specimens on exhibit. I swear they must be taxi drivers during the day, and some of them are pushing 40. Really. My Way is nothing but a smoke chamber nowadays. Despite the no smoking laws, it doesn't surprise me to see bars circumventing the regulations, but the smoke in My Way is beyond tolerable. I walked in on two occasions, was engulfed in clouds of smoke and walked back out. The fact that they only had 5 or 6 guys in the bar each time --- and none of those candidates for my bedroom --- didn't motivate me to stay and put up with the curtain of nicotine.
I keep thinking that I'll give the bars another chance, but nothing lately is making me optimistic that these places aren't just in their death throes.

Doing some spring cleaning, I came across a few old copies of Thai Guys magazine. In the August 2000 issue was an advertisement for Blue Star gogo bar in Soi Twilight.

This, I believe, was the bar that invented the "pass-the beermug-for-a-collection" routine for an on-stage chuckwow. Other than that, its shows were pathetic. Nonetheless, I had some good times there, and off'd a few good boys from there too.

I also liked Blue Star and had some good luck offing boys there. I only had one dud; great looking kid with a big cock that didn't want to do anything once I took him back at my place. I compensated him accordingly (not much) and he sat down on the floor with his hand out, refusing to leave until I gave him more. That "more" was an extra 100 baht. I was happy just to get rid of him. One of those rare boys that was a total waste of time --- even despite the eye candy.

I am pleased to report that I have not been disappointed on my recent return to the BKK bars. Went to X-boys on Sunday night. It was quite busy and I had front row seats to view some good specimens and a passable "f...g act". I noticed that some of the guys were not even wearing condoms at least during the parade. My Thai boyfriend, his friend and I took home one of the beafier models and had a great foursome.

On Monday night we returned to the bars, this time Classic Boys. Nothing much has changed here in several months - same routines and ear splitting sound volume - but it was full of twinks and ladyboys. I don't recall this being the case previously. Anyway, we offed a couple of guys and back for another foursome, except one of the boys (#22) turned out to be a dud - I should have realised from his disinterested manner while on stage that he wouldn't be any good. I am such a sucker for the ones who don't seem keen. Anyway, turns out he has only been down from the country and working for a couple of weeks and is just so inexperienced. The other guy though was fantastic. So we despatched 22 quickly and then had an orgy with the other guy. Exhausting.

By the way, before going to Classic Boys we briefly looked in on Future Boys, but the guys were just so ordinary we had one drink and then left.

P.S. have the drink prices doubled at the bars or is it my imagination?

That depends. How much did you pay for the drinks? And while you're at it, how much was the off fee?

Last month, drinks were 250 baht in Future and 240 baht in Hotmale, if my memory serves me well.

I just asked two farang friends who regularly take boys for threesome with their Thai boyfriends.

Both farang gave basically the same reply - always case by case, however a good percentage of workers would expect a double tip or at least more than the tip for a single customer.

One of the said farang, who does this very regularly (my guess would be once a week) quoted 3 recent examples:

1. He and his Thai BF offed two boys and took them back to their hotel where they had already booked into adjoining rooms (in anticipation of what follows). The two working boys swapped rooms several times (this was all discussed and agreed before leaving the bar).

Bottom line - both working boys gave good service and were both given double tip.

2. Farang, Thai BF and one working boy - all together in one bed. Working boy gave good service and he was paid double tip.

3. Farang took two working boys to his room for a F.... show. Farang wanted to just watch. They did what he requested, he paid both boys full tip.

Different experience for me. I have done multiple 3 ways in BKK .Most of the boys from XBoys but have had some from Classic, X Size etc.

I have never offered more then the normal Tip and none of the boys have ever expected more.
