I was in Thailand before , but never been with a Boxer.

I have a second hand account,though, from a guy I met in Bangkok who had picked up several in Pattaya.

He went to some straight bars in Walking street that have demonstrations of Muay Thai boxing (most of the boxers there would not be the best, really, but they would be genuine boxers all the same).

His m.o. was to go to the bars and tip generously after a bout (the boxers go around looking for tips after a fight).

He would try to get chatting to them. Sometime the bar-girls in the places would know the boxers well and he would discreetly make his interest known.

He then would ask the boxers to pose for a photograph for a few baht. Then chat a bit more. If it was after their last fight of the night he would offer them a drink.

When things had gotten friendly, (maybe after one or two nights had passed) he would tell them he was a keen amatuer photographer, and ask them to come to his apartment for a more intimate photo session, for a generous remuneration.

By this time the boxer would know the score - usually the fact that he liked men rather than women would have been mentioned while chatting by then.

If he got rebuffed, he would know the boxer was not interested, but he would maintain friendly relations - sometimes that boxer would introduce him to a more amenable boxer friend in the future!

Sometimes the boxers did not appreciate the interest - they suddenly got very cold and unapproachable when he told them he preferred men to women, etc. but compared to western boxer types, where being in a situation like that could get you beaten up quite quickly, he said most of them were open to suggestion at least.

So that my story - second hand like i said, but it could be worth checking out if you are going to Pattaya.

I find that guy's modus operandi creepy--like a gay guy sitting in a straight bar and trying to "groom" a hunk into having sex. I think my description of what he does made it seem a bit more dragged out and underhand than it is - i think most boxers know pretty much straight away what he is after, and he is happy they do.

What I think the subtle approach he uses is for is to make it easier to contact guys who are happy to play with a guy (or at least happy to play for money) but do not officially self-identify that way, for reasons of "face".

And obvously he gets many rejections, but that is part of the process - the thrill of the chase.

You could argue that what he does is more interesting than a guy who goes to Pattaya and never leaves the gogo bars of Boystown, and is accepted by every guy he asks down from the stage.

Not that there is anything wrong with that but there is a bit of the "kid in a candy-store" aspect - it gets a bit dull after a while.

Anyway, I just hope your attitude does not put people who have interesting experiences with boxers (or anybody else off the gogo and host bar beaten track) from posting on this tread.

In my previous trips to Thailand I met a few Boxers. They were confident, masculine, adventurous and very easy to get along with but not afraid to say what they liked or didn't like as I grow tired of the everything always being "up to you sir".

I don't want hugs, kisses or affection. I don't want a boyfriend or sniff kisses. I like a man that acts like a man and I find that the Fighters I have met are those types of guys. It also does not hurt that they have a gym trained body that is hard in all the right places and to have a body built for work and not simply for show.

There is more to it than that but I figure it is easier to explain the easy part, the hard part to explain in the flavor and smell of what attracts me to the boxer type of dish.

I'm sticking with my opinion on this one. I just can't stand seeing gays play elaborate pussy-cat games directed at trying to seduce straight guys (or any guys). But maybe I'm missing something (and maybe this actually works). But what I've noticed (in the U.S.--not in Thailsand) is that these are long, drawn-out, elaborate, creepy exercises, which almost always are just a total waste of time. And by the way, I have had great success getting hot straight guys using a more direct approach--it's almost like they love the direct approach, and are turned off by a pussy-cat approach.
