I haven't seen this mentioned before, but I travel a lot by bus in Bangkok and find the public buses a constant joy - far better than sitting in a hermetically sealed taxi. I think there is an unspoken sub-culture going on here amongst gay Thais; far too often for it to be an accident my cute neighbour has started pressing his knee against mine. I've tried withdrawing my knee to my side of the seat, and more often than not my cute neighbour's knee follows on over. (It once happened with a gorgeous 15 year old who made the pressure on my knee so obvious I nearly succumbed.) My problem is this: I don't know what to do next if there is a 'code' to follow. How do I confirm my willingness without putting myself into a compromising situation with someone who is just being a bit too friendly? Any insights and similar stories would benefit us all, I think.

The non-aircon buses are particularly fruitful hunting grounds - full of college boys saving money on the fare.

I agree, the buses (particularly the non-A/C ones) are much cruisier than the sterile and more upscale Skytrain. Yes sir, always something cute to ogle on the bus. Can't help you as far as what to do after the groping. I'm still too shy on public transportation to make any moves. Perhaps one of our bolder friends can give us some tips.

As a bi guy, can anyone tell of any knee rubbing with college girls on the buses? I'm sure that they're not as forward as the guys. I think that a good opening line is, "Hi". It's easy and I'm sure that most college students or even regular Thais can understand that. After that, what's your name. You may be surprised at how much they actually know and can work it from there.

I've found that guys who are interested will be open for casul (or direct) suggestions like having a cup of coffee or you both going to one of the other's house/apartment/hotel room. That will have to be yours, more than likely, as it will be more than likely that they will be living with family or a boy/girlfriend.

Gotta agree that the Skytrain has real potential. There are college studs that ride in the late afternoon and into the eve.

Once, after eye contact of obvious intention, there was a nice young guy who got off at the next stop just to see if I'd follow (which of course I did). If it doesn't work out just hop the next train afew minutes later and continue one's journey at no extra charge.

Also met another beautiful young guy who was deaf but wrote fast notes in fluent English (!), and was a great, moanful bottom back at the hotel.

I'd say Skytrainers tend to be from more affluent families, so they're less likely out just for the money. They are students, though, and after a pleasurable session, a tip is often much appreciated.

Thai 1st class trains have the same private compartments (with two beds in them: one upper, one lower). And the boys they have come make up the beds for you a couple hours after departure can be really cute (and available, probably...).
