Anybody here use craigslist for hookups? It looks fairly active.

Anybody care to share some success stories if they have used it.

I've hooked up a few times on Craigslist. It just depends, sometimes it's great, other times not.
Lots of Fake ads on there. a Few Escort or wanabee escort postings. A lot of back and forth E-mails.
Overall, i think it's a great site. I get better responses when i post a pic, and yet the picky bastards still ask for more when they haven't even sent one! the nerve! LoL

Been several years since I hooked up from CFS here, though haven't posted looking for such and am one who likes to pass on any information that I know. Would like someone to do the same for me.

Craigslist can be hit-or-miss.

Just for fun I have gone to the other cities to just checkout the ads and pics ... funny to find some same ad/pics in 3 or 4 other cities .... hence your typical "picture collector".

Did meet a hung local who was within walking distance and another from the other side of Hermosa Bch who rode his bike over. Sometimes there will be 6 to 8 responces to your posting and then the same posting the next week will have no responces.

My own experience has shown that Craigslist is no better and no worse than other sites for hooking up. You will get the usual crap of flakes and liars and in a very rare moment--a dude who will actually hookup.

Unfortunately, web hookups from ANY website are becoming increasingly rare because of the anonymity of it, which breeds liars, no shows, flakes, closet cases, fakes and mostly fantasizers. Too many like the fantasy described in the ads, but won't actually follow-through. And of course, is they lie about their age, weight, dick size and sexuality (gf, bi, married, straight, etc.) they are going to lie about everything else.

I suggest cruising the old-fashioned way...in a bar, sexclub or park...I have much more luck in public than online and its much, much, much quicker

CL is great for finding things for sale cheap, and I have pulled lots of great items from the Free section as well.

I have had some decent physical hookups from CL as well as a mediocre hookup or two and a bunch of flake-outs. Not that far removed from here, except here you have a profile you can check out. If its been filled in that is!

Mind you, I don`t fit that 'under 30 and as cool a stud as me' role. I am more into the 1% category mentioned above. However I don`t have much problem finding someone to hook up with when I am looking, although sometimes it seems like I am the only one being straightforward and honest about myself....

There seems to be a lot more traffic on CL than here lately, is that because this site has become so slow to load ?

Well... when I was under 30 there probably was no craigs list, and many of the systems were bulletin boards with no pictures.. All I know in the 1980s was the gay bars, a couple books stores and the baths. I guess in a way I am lucky. I'm still alive and I have my health. If there had been this much technology to hook up when I was much younger and not as wise or knowledgeable I might have been seriously ill or dead by now.... I guess it all works out for the best!

I should have added is, with all the internet access available the ability to all these people whom are probably not interesting getting laid. Instead they have become engaged in these "armchair" fantasies and buying advertising which makes it seem as if there are less guys hooking up. Sure there has been a decline in hook-ups because of HIV and other real factors, but overall you probably would never see many of these people out in a public place like a bar or other gay social setting for a number of reasons, "I'm straight" is the catch all phrase! I truly believe that many of these armchair sex-atheletes lack the social skills and do not want to learn any or deal with being polite enough to tell someone they are not interested. It's much easier to snub someone from behind a keyboard, and sadly it's widely accepted. What is really odd to me, are these people that obsessed with the sex fantasty that they are gym bunnys and spend all this time looking good just to exchange pictures and a couple emails? Maybe it is just be but I run my own business and it does take up a lot of my time. Looking to get laid has turned into maybe a once a serious once a week thing even though I do find myself horny somewhere in the middle of the week.

Time and experience has hardened me I admit. I find it surprising these days when someone very attractive doesn't have their head in a cloud, and is only worried about hanging out with the 'pretty' people.

Some of the baths can be busy during the daytime.

1350 CLUB, MIDTOWNE SPA, and MELROSE SPA each have a 1/2 price room days. I checked in on one Wednesday at the 1350 CLUB at 11am, I got the last room available (those behind me put in lockers until a room became vacant). Place stayed a "full house" my entire visit, finally I was "spent" & checked out.

The 2 ROMAN HOLIDAYS - Van Nuys and then the Venice Blvd location - both have $10 lockers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I went to the Venice location a couple Wednesdays ago, quite a decent daytime crowd. I know not eveyone scores when they go to the baths, hence with having that chip-on-their-shoulder, they will write a bad review on the club, but I seem to have an "good time" when I do go. I found with the ROMAN HOLIDAYS if you don't see what you like right away, others will be checking in.

Both locations have rooftop sundecks for nude tanning too. Guys coming to use such daytimes on the weekends too.
