I'm a recently married guy who used to frequent adult bookstores quite a bit. I'm always the "suckee" and was naive enough to think that I couldn't catch an STD by just getting sucked. Unfortunately, I did catch gonorrhea. This has happened to me twice...but generally only when I've been frequently the booths a lot. (Law of averages, I guess!) I'd still like to get sucked off once in a while...but frankly I hate getting sucked while wearing latex...and I wouldn't want to ever subject my wife to any risk of getting an STD due to my desire to have the occassional guy suck me off.

The only other problem that I've ever had, is having the occassional overenthusiastic cocksucker irritate the head of my penis.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in that you are able to get gonorrhea from being a suckee.

NABOB, or anyone else for that matter, what are the symptoms of gonorrhea? I've never had it...

I'm glad this thread is still alive and kicking. There is some helpful, interesting, and sexy info here.

Thanks. HB.

VanNuys, it's more than a few cases worldwide. I got HIV from oral sex, you can choose not to believe it. I used to deny the risk too. You are right it is much less risky than anal sex, but low risk is not the same as no risk. I'm not saying people should stop sucking,I think you can minimize the risk by not deep throating, and not getting cum in your eyes.

Just wanted to add some more info on the STD info that I posted. The first question--how do you know if you have gonorrhea...from my experience...you'll have no doubt in your mind. You will get a brownish-green discharge from your penis about 7-10 days after exposure...very sticky.

Treatment is rather easy. You usually just take an antibiotic regimen, and the situation is cleared up in a week or so. More problematic is the large needle that get stuck up the slit in your dick when they need to take the culture to determine if you are infected.

To answer the second question, no, I was not wearing a condom. I guess my naivety got the best of me, but I figured I'd be safe as the suckee, as long as I had no open sores, etc. My theory is that I got blown by somebody who had likely been hanging out at the bookstore for quite a while and had blown somebody at sometime before me who had an STD. I wasn't wearing a condom, and I got burned, basically.

Okay, I have never been a sucked or been sucked. However, I have an extreme desire to and so I am curious as how some of the guys that have replied to this topic saying that they done it a million times. I guess my question now is where did you find participants, and how did you know what they wanted too.
I consider myself to be quite attractive, I am 19, healthy and in shape, yet never been approached or anything--what am I doing wrong?
As for the safe sex issue. Guys, let's be honest. Ingestion of bodily fluids is extremely risky therefore, swallowing and deep throating pose great risks for the one sucking. Also, for the guy being sucked, if there is a cut or sore on his cock then there is a high risk. But I think what many forget is that not all STD's are contracted through the blood. There are quite a few that can be transmitted by touch. For example if a (guy who just sucked off a guy with a STD) sucks you off, then you are now at risk. If you then get sucked off by another guy then it's like the domino effect. Am I being paranoid? Maybe, but hey, guys, we have this one body for the rest of lives so lets take care of it.

Hello guys/friends/future lovers,
I just found this site recently and am finding the discussions & info in it very helpful. I am 36 years old and just had my first sexual experiences with a man late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. I have had a lot of fears/issues in my life that have prevented me from pursueing a sex life until now (such as my brother dying of aids 5 years ago & being deeply steeped with religious guilt) - issues which I finally have worked through enough that now I hope to maybe make up for lost time. Here's my story (maybe its just a little long, but it does get back to the topic of STD's from oral sex). On Tuesday I went to a local gay bar for the very first time and ended up really enjoing it & the people. I enjoyed guys buying me drinks. I went to a less crowded "back patio" area with one fellow and got to try "french kissing" (whick to tell you the truth I really didn't like but was glad I tried it - I think I'd enjoy a less intense variation of french kissing). The guy had his hands all over me (which I really liked) and so I stuck his hand in my pants on my dick. I had previously discussed with him my fears about aids & my brother's death, so when he was about to give me a blowjob without a condom I reminded him of my concerns & had him back off. He bought me a few more drinks bringing my total number of drinks to around 8 or 9. As I really am not a drinker, I was already a little "buzzed" after my first drink, which was only a wine cooler! (my last drinks were much stronger). The alcohol impaired my judgment, and my firm resolve for condom-use was later "thrown to the wind" after I brought him home with me (its a wonder I was able to drive home). He performed oral sex on "condom-less" me, which I really really enjoyed. He also liked my dick and had it down in his throat. I also sucked his dick (without a condom) but didn't do a very good job of it (he complained of "too much teeth" - I guess I need lessons. (I had not told him I'd never done ANYTHING with another man, as I already had enough performance anxiety and didn't want to be any more self-concious than I already was). I much preferred getting sucked to sucking (but I'm sure I'll try sucking again). We fooled around for about an hour but didn't have anal sex (I would like to try "topping" with the next guy if we really hit it off). My story is leading up to something, so just bear with me until I raise some more concern about heavy alcohol consumption (I think there needs to be a whole other discussion topic posted on alcohol-related concerns). After having so much alcohol, the sensation in my dick was greatly decreased - I had to look to see if I was hard (I was pretty hard but could have gotten harder). Has anybody else out there noticed decreased sensation (and not being as hard) with alcohol? Now back to the topic at hand: Just under 48 hours after my encounter, the end of my dick started being painful - very painful when peeing. A pussy white discharge also started. I also came down with a sore throat. From looking in a medical book, I thought my symptoms sounded like gonhorrea (excuse my spelling). I went to the public health department, and in order for them to get a culture they stuck a cotton-tipped wooden stick down my dick and twisted the stick and OH-MY-GOD-DOES-THAT-HURT!#@!$@%! The results of my culture don't come back until Wednesday, so if I do have gonhorrea they won't start treating it until then. While at the health department, I had them give me an immunization shot to protect me from hepatitis (you are supposed to get a series of 3 shots and it is a good idea for everyone to get them). Things might not be as bad for me as I have feared - the pussy discharge has stopped and I have a lot less pain (gonhorrea is not supposed to clear up on its own without treatment). It is possible I suffered a scratch or some kind of irritation just within the opening at the end of my penis and got just a normal non-STD infection which will go away on its own. I found out that the guy I was with has a bad cold so that explains the sore throat (we did a LOT of french kissing). At any rate I will know on Wednesday and treatment only takes 4 to 7 days. One more thing I'd like to say: right after the guy left my house, in order to take at least some safety precautions, I rinsed my mouth with mouthwash twice, soaked my dick in a cup with mouthwash (what else do you do at 2am when you are drunk), I took a pee (I've read thats actually supposed to help reduce risk), and I took a bath. Well....so much for my first experience.... any comments?

I have been having my dick sucked deep-throat style all of my life and I am glad to know that those of you who do it, enjoy doing it. A friend of mine whose teeth used to hurt too much for me to shove it all the way down his throat, bought some "night guards" (to keep one from grinding your teeth at night) and now he can take it all the way down without hurting at all. If any of you have teeth problems, you might look into getting some of these. They also prevent any knicks or scratches on my meat, for when it's hard, it like a piece of stone, and teeth are always a problem for me. But if a guy's teeth are hurting me, I pull out and don't pursue it any longer. Just thought I'd pass on that information.

I thought as the originator of this thread I'd get it going again. There's a lot of good info here and some sexy stuff too.

Since there's nothing on earth like my hard cock in the mouth and down the throat of a hot man, thought I'd ask if any guys out there who are 'suckees' like me also like to get their assholes eaten out and tongue fucked? And if so, what if any kinds of different STDs a guy can catch getting his asshole tongue fucked and is it safer/less safe than receiving a blow job?

I look forward to what you guys have to say and what your experiences have been.

HB.

With any kind of sexual contact there are always risks. With oral there are more risks if you're the person doing the sucking. If you have recessed gums, gingivitis(mild gum disease)or any cuts or abrasions on your gums or the walls of your mouth or throat you can catch anything from gonnarhea, hepatitis, herpes, chlamydia, to HIV. The suckee can get those things too if they get nicks or cuts on their dick from the suckers teeth although you can still catch any of those things even if there's no injury. To answer HB's question, rimming is a very easy way to contract hepatitis or any other bacteria that might be in someone's fecal matter. If you perform any kind of oral sex on someone unprotected, it's a good idea to rinse with listerine or hydrogen peroxide to reduce the risk of catching anything, but it doesn't eliminate it though. The person getting sucked should wash also afterwards(that should be a no-brainer!!) And don't knock condoms til you've tried them, just make sure to use unlubed ones with some water based lube on the inside(it feels pretty good). Have fun and play safe guys.

Suckees...I am living proof that you can get HIV from being sucked.. I was infected in 92 during which time I was in school and working full time..I had no time for dating so I would go to the nearest glory hole or where ever and get sucked I did this for 2 years prior to testing positive (before 92 I always tested negative) the only way I could have gotten HIV was from being sucked, during that time I never sucked dick and I never bottom..How can this happen? When someone deep throats you the blood vessels in the back of the throat and tonsils are very near the surface and can easily be ruptured so the person with the deep throat can easily bleed onto the tip of your cock and infect you. Something to think about boys. peace

I think the key issue here is about "Viral Load". That is the amount of HIV found in the body. As you'll know, the new drugs, which I've taken since 1996, reduce the amount of virus to what are called "undetectable" levels - when they work well! That doesn't mean you have no virus but it does mean it's low in your body.
But when people get first infected with HIV their viral load skyrockets. A friend who very recently became positive (he knows because of symptoms he experienced) had an original viral load of 600,000 (that's high!). Now three months later, it's down to 20,000... and probably will get down even lower as his body's own immune system responds to the HIV. That's absolutely textbook reaction. BUT before he tested for HIV, in the few weeks after infection, my friend carried on having sex with people including oral sex. I believe it's at that time when infections happen because your viral load is very high. Incidentally, your viral load is also high when you get very ill (but usually you're off sex by then! I know!).
Here in London, some of the discussion is about trying to reach people about safer sex info when they are first infected because that is when they themselves are most infectious to others.
In other words, you have passive sex (oral or anal) with someone who you later find out is positive, you go to the clinic, they say "Be really careful about what sex you have for the next two months and watch for symptoms of "seroconversion" (that's when you go from negative to positive). The symptoms are night sweats, flu like illness (without phlegm etc), rashes, tiredness and fatigue etc.
It means if you have become positive, you're not putting others at similar risk plus, as the first correspondent notes, you can get treatment at this stage to "blow" the virus out of the body (that's the theory though I'm not sure it works).
I'm not sure if undetectable viral load means you're much less infectious, but my gut feeling on this, having talked to doctors, is that you are. You're certainly much less infectious than someone with a very high viral load in terms of risk and my real sense is that new infections are coming from people who themselves don't know they've just been infected. It would explain alot, because I'm not convinced there are loads of people who know they are positive going around having unsafe sex. People aren't that stupid!
